Job description

The Opportunity


Skift, the most influential media and events company in the global business of travel, is looking for a temporary events manager (6-9 month project) to join their Events team to help manage all event logistics for our global, online and hybrid/physical events.


Skift is a fully distributed, remote company with employees based across the globe. This position is remote and requires a high level of coordination and communication skills to be successful. You must be able to work independently, meet goals, set tasks in a timely manner, join meetings via video, and periodically work outside normal company hours for special events or projects. ou will be heavily involved in coordinating international events, including the Skift India Forum (March) and Skift Asia Forum (May).


Some of What You'll Do

  • Assist in the planning and execution of events such as the India Forum, Asia Forum, and Skift Global Forum East.
  • Research vendors, create RFPs, and evaluate proposals to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
  • Coordinate with vendors, including venue representatives and production teams, to organize meeting room layouts, seating arrangements, furniture, signage, and logistics for setup and breakdown
  • Oversee event setup, including technical rehearsals, catering, AV requirements, and staff accommodations.
  • Collaborate with the SkiftX and creative teams to deliver sponsor deliverables, such as arranging VIP dinners, sourcing stage furniture, and managing activations
  • Provide onsite support by addressing and resolving challenges to ensure a smooth experience for all stakeholders.
  • Other tasks as required


The Experience You Bring

  • 5+ years’ experience in events industry with focus on logistics and planning
  • Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced environments and meet tight deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, G Suite and Basecamp
