Job description

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain server hardware and software components.
  • Monitor server performance and availability, troubleshooting issues as they arise.
  • Perform regular system backups and ensure data integrity.
  • Implement security measures to protect servers from unauthorized access and cyber threats.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to design and implement server infrastructure solutions.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT staff.
  • Keep abreast of industry trends and best practices in server management and security.
  • Document server configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps.
  • Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support and maintenance tasks.
  • Evaluate and recommend hardware and software upgrades as needed to maintain optimal performance.

Requirements

  • Ready work in night shift (11:00 PM to 8 AM)
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Server Support Engineer or similar role.
  • In-depth knowledge of server hardware, operating systems (e.g., Windows Server, Linux), and virtualization technologies.
  • Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to diagnose and resolve server-related issues.
  • Experience with server monitoring and management tools are a plus
  • Understanding of security best practices and experience implementing security controls on servers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CompTIA Server+, VMware Certified Professional) are a plus.
