Job Description:
10+ years of experience as an Oracle Linux and Oracle VM Engineer
This role will be responsible for managing the distributed applications on VM Machines. You will own the incidents routed by L1/L2 team and provide resolution.
You will be reporting to the Manager and working on the tasks assigned with flexibility.
Ensure you meet the deadlines and the SLAs.
You will serve as the first point of escalation for the Level 1 and Level 2 teams.
Prepare and update documents for the customer's tasks whenever required.
Document all the issues and their solutions for future references.
Bring the highly complex and highly sensitive issue to the notice of the manager.
Role and Responsibilities:
Maintain Oracle Linux & OVMs.
Perform daily system and network monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups for both on premise and on cloud platform.
Cloud Management (Oracle, AWS and Azure) and Upgrade OS version and hardening KVM Host and VM.
Perform Cloud based infrastructure operation management.
Provide technical support, troubleshooting and administration of all VMWare, Hyper-V, Oracle VM, Windows, Linux, Unix Storage systems.
Troubleshoot system, storage and network problems, diagnosing and solving hardware or software
Ensure security through access controls, backing up system, restoring and recover system.
Monitor performance, Manage and Maintain / troubleshoot Storage and networks
Investigating, Diagnosing and solving software and hardware.
Coordinating hardening and testing efforts through DR activities.
Identify and automate technical/process improvements.
Requirements:
Needs to have at least 8 years of experience on Oracle Linux and Oracle VM
Willing to work in a 24/7 environment. Must be flexible to work on weekends and after business hours, if required.
Willing to work extended hours for supporting projects and troubleshooting issues
Must have strong communication skills to deal directly with business and development teams.
Must have strong technical skills to manage and take ownership of technical projects without any assistance.
Expert in Troubleshooting any kind of issue.
