We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Project Accountant to join our team at Arqiva. In this role, you will manage financial records, support project governance, and collaborate with various teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and insightful analysis. If you have a strong background in management or project accounting and excellent communication skills, we invite you to apply and contribute to our innovative projects in broadcasting and utilities.
The role
Deliver accurate and complete project accounting records to comply with accepted accounting policies and principles. Ensure appropriate governance on project spend running / supporting ERM as allocated.
Prepare, maintain and reconcile project ledger accounts. Perform accounting for Digital Technology within the Enterprise portfolio, working with the Head of Finance – Capex, Opex and Technology and the Finance Manager – Tech & Capex and the Enterprise Delivery Management Prinicpal and Project Managers to finalise the monthly financial results and insight / commentary.
Produce comprehensive and timely Balance Sheet reconciliations for all project module reconciliations, adopting standard approach with detailed understanding of the ledger balances, their contents and how they unwind.
Support the Enablement team through financial review of Capex investment cases.
Calculate the monthly depreciation accrual for completed projects yet to be capitalised
Support the Reporting and Continuous Improvement (CI) team to identify and address month-end / transaction process issues, adopting a CI approach
Work with the Reporting team to identify material erroneous transactions for the reporting team to address with the originating business users
Support financial forecasting and budgeting processes with functional area analysis . Provide support to internal and external auditors as required
The person
Significant experience in Management Accounting, Project Accounting, Analyst role
Significant experience in communicating at different levels
Working knowledge of EBS, EPM and Smartview
It would be desirable if you have a working knowledge of QilkSense
Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office
Working knowledge of financial controls and reconciliation processes
