As the MF Operations Team Lead, you will oversee a team of engineers, manage mainframe operations, troubleshoot system issues, ensure system health, and support infrastructure documentation and maintenance.

What will your job look like?

• You will lead a team of skilled MF Operations Engineers, providing hands-on support and guidance.
• Your daily responsibilities will include monitoring system consoles, troubleshooting issues, and collaborating with various teams to address infrastructure challenges.
• You will oversee the scheduling and execution of jobs, manage system starts and stops, and ensure the timely resolution of support tickets.
• You will support the creation and maintenance of infrastructure documentation, manage database upgrades, and handle disaster recovery processes.
• Your role will also involve coordinating release deployments, third-party upgrades, and maintenance activities.
• You will be instrumental in fostering a collaborative team environment, inspiring and motivating team members, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and security requirements.
  
  

All you need is...

• Advanced English proficiency
• Extensive experience in mainframe infrastructure management, including vendor management.
• Proficiency in z/OS, AS400, and other mainframe operating systems like z/VM and z/VSE.
• Strong understanding of COBOL, JCL, and Assembler, with familiarity in other languages such as PL/I and REXX.
• Expertise in database management (DB2, IMS, FOCUS, and other databases).
• Proficiency in CICS for managing online transactions and MQ for messaging and integration.
• Experience with performance monitoring tools like RMF and SMF, and skills in tuning mainframe systems for optimal performance.
• Knowledge of RACF for security management and understanding of compliance requirements and industry standards.
• Experience with backup and recovery solutions.
• Ability to convey messages and goals to the team, inspire and motivate team members, and foster a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
• Strong decision-making skills, proactive issue identification and resolution, and the ability to encourage creative solutions and innovation.
• Flexibility and openness to change, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage the team’s workload effectively.
