What We Can Achieve Together
The Exchange Transaction Manager manages the activities and personnel for all aspects of the organization’s exchange transaction revenue processes.
The Exchange Transaction Manager reports to the Director of Revenue Compliance and contributes to the strategic direction and financial integrity of the processes for the organization that relate to exchange transaction revenue (mainly ASC 606), guiding revenue recognition processes and supporting decision-making at the highest levels, particularly within the unique context of a nonprofit organization.
The Exchange Transaction Manager is a subject matter expert on exchange transaction revenue, which involves reviewing and analyzing contracts to determine revenue recognition implications to ensure accurate financial reporting, particularly focusing on exchange transaction revenue within the context of a nonprofit organization. The position is expected to develop, enhance, and document internal controls related to revenue recognition processes. The position is also expected to provide guidance and support to the team and other departments, collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and timely revenue forecasting and reporting.
Responsibilities & Scope
- Oversees the overall activity of all exchange transaction revenue streams, directly managing select segments and providing oversight for others.
- Manage and mentor a team of specialists, providing training and development opportunities to enhance their technical skills and knowledge.
- Prepare and present financial reports related to revenue recognition to senior leadership, ensuring clarity and transparency.
- Manages and implements projects and initiatives to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the revenue recognition process.
- Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes impacting revenue recognition and communicate necessary updates to the team and stakeholders.
- Ensures programmatic commitments, TNC policies and procedures, financial standards and legal requirements are met and managed for compliance.
- Act as a subject matter expert in ASC 606, serving as a resource for internal stakeholders and external auditors, particularly regarding the nuances of nonprofit revenue.
- Develop initial processes to manage Exchange Transactions, inside and outside of ledger system.
- Reinforces consistency in the organization's policies and procedures and provides support related to relevant field.
- May manage or participate in complex negotiations.
- Decisions may bind organization financially and legally.
- Works within a budget, negotiating and contracting with vendors.

- Multi-lingual skills and/or multi-cultural experience appreciated
- Experience with motivating and leading staff.
- Technical expert on complex accounting/financial issues.
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel and financial systems, including Workday.
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills.
- Demonstrated success in analyzing, manipulating and interpreting data, and developing, reporting, and implementing solutions.
- Service oriented. Courteous, personable, tactful and experienced dealing effectively with all levels of staff.
- Experience with complex revenue streams and contract structures in a nonprofit context.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Ability to resolve complex issues independently within program area.
- Experience acting as a resource to others to solve problems.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration Finance, or a related field and 5 years related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience working with computer and information management systems, Excel spreadsheets and databases for financial analysis, fiscal management, and/or financial reports.
- Experience recruiting, supervising, and developing staff.
- Experience in developing, directing and implementing multiple projects.
- Experience performing high level financial analysis and recommending corrective action as appropriate.
- Experience with GAAP including ASC 2014-09 Topic 606 and not-for-profit accounting principles, practices and regulations.
- Experience evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of management controls; interpreting guidelines and analyzing factual information to adapt or modify processes as needed.
- Active CPA license.

SALARY INFORMATION
The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position is generally within the range of $78,600.00 – $125,000.00 for annual base salary. This range only applies to candidates whose country of employment is the USA. Where a successful candidate’s actual pay will fall within this range will be based on a variety of factors, including, for example, the candidate's location, qualifications, specific skills, and experience
. Please note countries outside the USA would have a different pay range in the local currency based on the local labor market, and not tied to USA pay or ranges. Your geographic location will be confirmed during the recruitment.
