Assistant Finance Manager role provides a great opportunity to get to know our business and to add value and insight to the overall forecasting, modelling and reporting of business performance. It will require close working with the other Finance Partners, Financial Control, and building strong relationships with the wider business.
The key skills will be robust reporting and analysis, planning and forecasting combined with great interpersonal skills and a desire to understand what we do and make a difference. This is a fixed term role for 12 months.
Responsibilities
Produce and distribute weekly/monthly operational reports, develop new reports to meet business needs, and ensure accuracy of financial reporting.
Extract and analyse data from finance and operational systems to track spending and prepare monthly accruals and reports.
Identify areas to improve processes and reporting, drive cost-saving initiatives and efficiency improvements.
Develop understanding of business strategy and its translation into financial impacts
Support finance transformation activity through delivery of improvements in forecasting and reporting
Produce standard finance deliverables to the agreed timeline and quality, supported by clear and focused explanations and messaging
Regularly report performance against plans and forecasts, supporting business review of financial and operational variances to identify corrective actions
Support delivery of accurate, efficient, and transparent financial plans and forecasts
Carry out non-standard / bespoke analysis to support business decision making and identify performance improvement interventions
Qualifications
Essential
Qualified Accountant (CIMA / ACCA / ACA)
Strong analytical skills with the ability to execute P&L analysis and attention to detail.
Advanced Excel skills
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and work collaboratively within the Finance team
