The Financial Analyst will support our US Orthopedic business unit and provide financial support to a complex and growing business. The position will assist with financial reporting, analysis, and forecasting, and will participate in the medium and long-range planning processes and monthly forecasting cycles. This position will also provide functional cost center owners with financial support with Actuals analysis, Budget/Forecast buildouts, and ad-hoc analysis as needed.
Key Duties And Responsibilities
- Coordinate and assist in aspects of the monthly and quarterly projection cycles including forecasting revenue and P&L line items, as well as loading all financials into the company’s financial management system
- Participate in and support the annual strategic plan and budget process
- Prepare month-end journal entries and perform account reconciliations in accordance with GAAP
- Provide timely analytical explanation of variances between actual results and forecasts/budgets
- Analyze departmental expenses and other financials
- Perform in-depth financial analysis of the P&L including analyzing line items such as commissions, T&E, instrument purchases, headcount (compensation) as well as provide budget, projection, and actual variance commentary for these items
- Build and manage ongoing reporting for internal business partners inclusive of revenue and expense trends, NPI performance, strategic initiatives, KPIs and metrics, etc.
- Establish strong working relationships with the corporate finance team and other cross-functional groups and become a trusted business partner
- Ensure internal controls are operating effectively
- Other projects and duties as assigned by the Finance & Executive leadership
Minimum Requirements
- BS/BA in Accounting or Finance required
- A minimum of 2 years experience in the accounting / finance function
Preferred Requirements
- MBA, CPA, or CMA preferred
- Medical device experience preferred
Other Attributes
- Ability to work well under tight deadlines, with cross-functional teams and multi-task
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Strong understanding of US GAAP, experience with and knowledge of the accounting and reporting requirements of publicly traded multinational companies
This position is not eligible for employer based sponsorship. Disclosure as required by applicable law, the annual salary range is 62,000-99,000. The actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education and skill level. The salary range is CONMED's good faith belief at the time of this posting.
