Job Title: Senior Network Engineer
Location: Chicago or Dallas for CTH - Remote for Contract
Duration: 6-Month Contract or Contract to Hire
Position Overview: Our client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our global team on a 6-month contract-to-hire basis. This role requires a reliable professional who can work independently without hand-holding. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing expert input, conducting assessments, identifying efficiencies, and ensuring that current network practices are optimal and can be improved upon.

You will work alongside a diverse team located in the UK, Germany, India, and the US, and will primarily work US hours. Strong documentation skills are essential for this role.
Responsibilities:

Design, implement, and maintain network infrastructure, including MPLS, Palo Alto firewalls, F5, and Cisco systems.
Manage and support network operations in a Data Center environment.
Troubleshoot and resolve L3 network issues and escalations, ensuring optimal performance and reliability.
Conduct network assessments, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams globally to deliver network solutions that meet business requirements.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
Maintain thorough documentation of network configurations, processes, and procedures.

Must Haves:

8+ years of progressive experience as a Senior Network Engineer, handling L3 issues and escalations.
Strong technical expertise in MPLS, F5, and network infrastructure support.
Enterprise-level experience with LAN/WAN.
Experience with Meraki (nice to have, especially for wireless projects).
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a global team.

Nice to Have:

Experience with Ansible and Python, especially for Palo Alto conversions off Cisco firewalls.
Global experience and willingness to travel once hired on as a full-time employee.
