Responsibilities

The Third Party Risk Management (TPRM) Compliance Manager will facilitate the analysis, onboarding, lifecycle management , and termination of vendors in collaboration with senior leaders in SCM and other departments. This role will interact with all levels of the organization and must have strong communication, facilitation, project management, and negotiation skills. The TPRM Compliance Manager is a key person to help build a culture around TPRM across the organization. This role will help set standards, help create the program, help manage and continuously improve the program, provide education, and stay knowledgeable in various areas of risk management. The Compliance Manager will work closely with Mayo Clinic Compliance , OIS, and IT in order to stay synchronized with the needs of the larger organization. In regard to vendor onboarding and lifecycle administration, this role must ensure that the policy needs of the organization are met in an effective, timely and efficient manner. The TPRM Compliance Manager may assist in requirement gathering. In this function, the TPRM Compliance Manager may work closely with C-level leaders, project leaders, department leadership, IT leaders, and the assigned legal counsel from Mayo Clinic. This role will also participate in and lead activities to continuously improve operations and document workflow to improve final products and reduce risk to Mayo Clinic. The TPRM Compliance Manager may manage small projects, systems, or agile teams of people in functions related to risk, contracting, and issues related to vendor oversight. Specific additional duties in keeping with the overall job description will be assigned. Areas of concentration may include HIPAA Privacy or Security, financial due diligence, Vendor and/or Client Contracting, and Application Development issues.

  • This position is a 100% remote work. Individual may live anywhere in the US.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required. Juris Doctor or MBA preferred.
  • Six (6) years total minimum cumulative experience from the areas below:
  • 2 years minimum experience in health care privacy, security or data protection or similar regulated environment.
  • 2 years minimum experience in writing and/or negotiating contracts, or being responsible for managing contracts.
  • 2 years minimum experience leading or being a key member of complex project teams.

Demonstrated excellence in written and oral communications skills and must be comfortable communicating with physicians, attorneys, and business executives in a professional and collegial manner. Depending upon the exact role, the candidate should possess an understanding of IT security as it relates to access control, product design elements, data design elements and HIPAA privacy fundamentals. Understanding of project management principles, prior project management or supervision experience preferred. Able to function objectively in high tempo, sensitive and stressful situations, work autonomously, ability to think on one's feet, manage stress, anticipate, improvise and synthesize extensive information to focus the issue. Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office tools (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio) to enhance communications. The candidate will be expected to facilitate projects and provide education to audiences of various sizes and experience levels. Must have proven ability to work effectively in a consensus-style operation that expects and promotes teamwork, creativity, innovation and independent problem-solving. Must be comfortable with ambiguity and have the ability to constantly evaluate and change priorities. Must possess the ability to inspire trust and confidence, and communicate effectively with internal and external audiences including physician leaders. The ability to work independently, work with multiple projects and maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality is essential. Must have the demonstrated ability to understand unique corporate cultures and innovative activities within that culture.

$102,772.80 - $143,873.60 / year. Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.
