Great American’s Mergers & Acquisitions Liability Division underwrites primary and excess Representations & Warranties (R&W) Insurance, Tax Indemnity Insurance and Tax Credit Insurance. This division handles policies of up to $50 million in limits.
The M&A Division of Great American is currently recruiting an M&A Analyst to join our team. The Underwriting Analyst will assist the mergers and acquisitions liability division in tax underwriting and will work remotely.
Completes all NDAs and NRLs on a timely basis and assists underwriters on tax underwriting deals.
Maintenance of electronic files daily, including filing of all tax emails and underwriting documents.
Prepares invoices for tax transactions.
Organizes the underwriting information to speed decision making on the part of the tax underwriter.
Provides information to Processing that is needed to issue tax policies and endorsements on a timely basis.
Inputs submission and policy information into underwriting workstation.
Processes tax quotes and binders in the underwriting workstation.
Follows up with brokers and underwriters to obtain key underwriting documents needed to issue tax policies.
Issues tax policies (when finalized and approved for issuance) on a timely basis.
Prepares a daily summary of open tax submissions for use by the tax team
Daily tracking of status of tax sidecar submissions; includes obtaining policy numbers, coordinating timely responses of tax team.
Inputs each submission, and process quotes and binders in the underwriting workstation.
Performs other duties as assigned including, when sufficiently trained, drafting excess policies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, paralegal certificate generally preferred.
Generally, 5+ years of experience in tax underwriting or managing tax issues.
Must have strong computer skills including MS Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Must have excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and able to meet tight deadlines.
Work may be required outside of ordinary business hours.
