Key Account Director - Independent Merchants

So, whats the mission?
We are seeking a Key Account Director with Marshalls Landscape Products to be the driving force across our Independent Merchant accounts. Working closely with our Trading Director, you'll craft a personalised commercial strategy that not only meets their needs but also aligns with our broader company goals. Your role will involve collaborating with our talented commercial team to ensure that our strategies work seamlessly together and contribute to the overall success of our business.

Ultimately, your mission is to maximise profitability by securing the best possible deals and product mix for our customers.

Focussed on Independent Merchant Accounts you will ensure supply is balanced with demand, provide market intelligence, and align sales and marketing strategies to meet customer needs. By fostering senior-level relationships and championing the effective use of processes like CRM systems, you will drive operational excellence.

We’re looking for a commercially driven sales professional with a proven track record of growing revenue across builders’ merchants. This is not a key account role for a single customer this is about managing multiple relationships, driving sales, and seizing commercial opportunities across a diverse customer base.


What the mission critical skills?

  • Proven success in sales, ideally you will have a background in working with or for builders’ merchants, with the ability to drive growth across multiple accounts.
  • Sharp commercial acumen, balancing long-term strategy with agile, results-driven decision-making.
  • Expert stakeholder management, influencing decision-makers across finance, IT, and marketing.
  • High-impact negotiation and communication skills, securing profitable deals while fostering lasting partnerships.
  • Hands-on, customer-first approach, delivering tailored solutions that drive sales and loyalty.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with a keen eye on compliance and Health & Safety.
