Nielsen’s Corporate Audit Staff (CAS) is a fast-paced, dynamic, and highly-selective team. CAS provides objective assurance over Nielsen’s reported financials and has reporting accountability to Nielsen’s management team, Audit and Risk Committee, and External Audit partner. As Nielsen is a global enterprise, CAS has audit responsibilities in over ~40 countries. Besides audit work, CAS engages in projects that support process improvement and critical strategic initiatives to support Nielsen.
This is a manager level role primarily focused on Financial audits, with limited IT audit exposure as well. It requires strong time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at once. An audit manager must have strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage and coach a team as well as cultivate relationships with the business and external auditor.
ResponsibilitiesMentor, train, and guide associate growth and development This role reports to a Senior Audit Manager and is responsible for 1-3 direct reports including preparation and delivery of periodic performance evaluationsManage Finance (and occasional IT) audits that evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls including planning, scoping, hands on field work, and drafting audit reportsPresent findings/recommendations to senior leadersPartner with the business to develop remediation plans and support best practice sharingAlso, maintain a strong and transparent relationship with external auditors throughout the yearContribute to the development of audit process improvements, including the development of automated routines, exploration of “full-population” testing, etc. Reimagine the control testing frameworks and transform/streamline ways of workEmbrace an analytical mindset to help identify and assess business risks; help grow the team’s analytical capabilitiesOwn one of the departmental committees focused on improving and enhancing the CAS team and how we workAssist in completion of the quarterly Audit & Risk Committee reportingResponsible for completion of annual controls testing memosQualificationsBachelor's degree in a related area (Accounting, Finance)4-5 years of experience in Audit, Finance, Accounting, or equivalentManagerial and/or leadership skills preferredStrong analytical, audit, investigative, and problem-solving skillsOutstanding organization to manage multiple workstreams Natural interpersonal skills; ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization and across various cultures Advanced skills in Excel (imperative), Word, PowerPoint and Google Suite of productsExperience with S4 Hana (SAP) and related modules (preferable)Understanding of data analytics/visualization tools: PowerBI/Tableau/UI Path, or related Solid understanding of Accounting and Internal Audit requirementsKnowledge of US GAAP and IIA International Standards for the Professional Practice of Internal AuditingCPA, CISA, MBA, and/or CIA designation preferredNielsen: Enabling your best to power a better media future. A reasonable estimate of salary range for a new employee to be offered this role would be $50,000 - $185,000 which would be adjusted based on each employee's geographic location. The position of each employee within a compensation range at Nielsen is dependent on several individual circumstances, such as experience, training, certifications and other business requirements/needs.
