Role Name: Bookkeeper for Remote Camp Operations

Schedule:

  • Full-time, flexible
  • Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm AWST with 1 hour unpaid break (8 paid hours per day)

Job Description

We’re seeking a skilled and experienced bookkeeper to manage the financial operations of a dynamic remote camp business. In this role, you’ll be responsible for handling significant transactions, working with specialized software, and contributing to the financial health of a company operating in the mining sector. This position offers a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in a fast-paced industry while working remotely. You’ll be dealing with high-value projects, managing monthly invoices that can reach up to $700,000, and playing a crucial role in maintaining the company’s financial stability during seasonal fluctuations.

Responsibilities
  • Process and manage large-scale financial transactions for remote camp projects
  • Handle monthly invoicing for high-value contracts, often reaching up to $700,000
  • Perform detailed reconciliations and prepare accurate financial journals
  • Manage payroll for a small, dedicated team of professionals
  • Utilize MYOB accounting software to maintain precise financial records
  • Create and analyze financial reports using Power BI dashboards
  • Monitor and manage the company’s financial email inbox, addressing queries and processing timesheets
  • Adapt financial strategies to accommodate seasonal business fluctuations
  • Collaborate with management to provide insights for financial decision-making
Requirements
  • Proven experience with MYOB accounting software
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and data analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to handle large financial transactions accurately
  • Experience working independently in a remote setting
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Experience with Power BI or similar business intelligence tools is highly desirable
  • Understanding of the mining or resource sector is a plus
  • Flexibility to adapt to workload variations throughout the year
