Senior Clinical Product Marketing Manger
Location: UK, Sweden (or Europe-remote)
At Velsera, the Senior Clinical Product Marketing Manager will be core to advancing our mission to transform healthcare through precision medicine and data-driven insights through our clinical value propositions and products. The role is part of the Strategy and Strategic and Product Marketing team and will report to the Chief Strategy Officer. You will work intimately with our Chief Medical Officer with whom you will co-own and be responsible for selecting and continuously validating and refining our target customer segments, value propositions, solutions packaging and positioning (i.e., software and services combinations), and go-to-market plan including tactical product marketing deliverables such as pitch documents, decision journeys and persona mapping, unmet needs analysis and competitive benchmarking. This work will be conducted in a strategic, data and insights driven manner, and with close alignment with our Commercial, Product, and Sales functions. The scope is global, with primary focus on the US and Europe. This role combines high-level strategic thinking with hands-on execution, requiring an individual who is equally comfortable with conceptual problem solving as well as creating marketing plans and key marketing products to enable the go-to-market strategy incl. outbound marketing and field sales.
As part of a small, dynamic, and high-impact Strategy team, you will take ownership of the core of our Clinical business, directly influencing Velsera’s trajectory. This role is ideal for someone who is deeply experienced with Clinical NGS incl. analytics and reporting, thrives in an entrepreneurial environment, has a strong business and marketing acumen, and is passionate about improving healthcare through data-driven insights.
What will you do?
As a Senior Clinical Marketing Manager, you will:
Co-own our target customer segments, value propositions and go-to-market plans (together with our Chief Medical Officer):
Maintain an updated list of potential relevant clinical customer segments for our solutions, evaluate the segment’s attractiveness (revenue size, potential profit, right to play, right to win etc.), prioritize focus segments, continuously validate and refine our “value proposition” (e.g., incl. validated key pain points/unmet needs we solve, our solutions packages and offers incl. value based and profitable pricing models) and synthesize our go-to-market plan incl. key enablers to successfully commercialize the value propositions
Continuously improve customer purchasing journey mappings and needs
Define/refine our understanding of different customer archetypes’ purchasing processes of our relevant value propositions and solutions (incl. the role of different personas), the personas’ key top pain-points, unmet needs and key buying factors as well as their different options (i.e., our competition)
Optimize our competitive positioning:
Evaluate the performance of Velsera vs competitors on Key Buying Factors per customer segment and value proposition/solution to drive adjustments in our go-to-market and messaging, and provide input to the product, services, technology and commercial teams on KBFs
Provide input and collaborate with Product, Services, Technology and Commercial roadmap/needs
Based on the understanding of our target segments, the purchasing journeys, the involved personas and their key buying factors as well as competitors’ performance against these, provide input to the rest of the organization on what is needed to successfully serve the target segments (i.e., ideas on what improvements we need to our products and services, which additional capabilities or access the commercial team could benefit from to convert customers)
Own key product marketing and sales enablement assets
Develop compelling, high-quality key pitch documents, maintain updated battle cards and product comparison sheets (note: Product, Technology and Services will provide technical/feature performance vs benchmarks and competitors.
Monitor key market (customer, competitor, industry, technology etc.) trends and refine our value propositions and go-to-market plans To enable all of above: Define, track and analyze relevant trends and developments to drive pragmatic decision making on key implications for our strategy, target segments, value propositions, messaging etc.
Provide input to the overarching Velsera’s Strategy: As a core part of the Strategy function, the Marketing team will provide thought partnership and data on target segment size, potential market share over time, competitive performance, ARR estimations per account, and associated required enablers and risks to mitigate as we set overall Velsera Strategy
What do you bring to the table?
• Proven experience (7+ years) in driving growth through clinical NGS marketing, out of which at least 4 years has included the marketing of analytics and decision support software, with go-to-market and product marketing responsibility
• Demonstrated ability to think strategically (i.e., prioritize options by value, create logical decision frameworks), as well as execute tactically (timely delivery of high quality and high impact deliverables)
• Strong customer and market research skills with experience in conducting market assessments, decision journeys, persona mappings through qualitative and quantitative research
• Strong “project-management” skills and ability to seamlessly switch between pragmatic (“80/20”) solutions and deep, accurate analyses
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex insights into clear, actionable recommendations and next steps
• Collaborative mindset with a proven ability to work cross-functionally and influence decision-making across multiple stakeholders
• Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Preferred Qualifications
• Masters in Marketing or MBA
• Deep knowledge of genomics and clinical NGS
• Former roles with NGS instrument, assay, and analytics leaders
