Manager, Software Development

Job Description Summary

The Software Development Manager is an integral member of the Architecture, Automation and Integration (AAI) Development team and is responsible for following the CSG processes. Establishes credibility with internal customers by guiding the team towards successful high-quality quality and timely deliverables. In this role, will collaborate with AAI Product Owner, Architects, Internal CSG Stakeholders, Leadership and other Cross-Functional Teams to understand requirements and work closely with the team. The Software Development Manager will manage the team, provide mentorship (technical and people) and ensure delivery as per timeline and quality standards.

Essential Job Function

  • Work with the leaders to understand overall strategy for the Architecture, Automation and Integration (AAI) Development team and perform other managerial responsibilities including hiring talented members, providing support and development of the team, and assisting with problem solving. Set quarterly SMART goals for the team to achieve organization objectives, conduct performance reviews, provide timely feedback and address concerns.
  • Provide technical leadership to complex problems and mentor staff. a. Assist team and provide technical mentorship. b. Act as escalation point on complex requests as needed

  • Provide assistance with documentation: standard operating procedures, policies, business continuity plans, architecture and infrastructure, training materials, knowledge articles. a. Coordinate and lead automation and process improvement efforts. b. Provide training to new and existing team members

  • Improve Net Promoter Score for the Architecture, Automation and Integration (AAI) Development team by analyzing the Glint Employee survey results carefully and taking appropriate actions. Ensure collaboration within the team, other Corporate IT Managers and teams.

  • Regular and reliable attendance is required.

  • Keeps abreast of all applicable regulations, laws (including the Bank Secrecy Act), card association rules and policies as they presently exist and as they change or are modified.  Ensures that the staff are trained and evaluated on their knowledge of and adherence to compliance policies and procedures specific to their jobs.  Understands and adheres to CSG Security and Compliance standards as they appear in Information Security, Acceptable Use, Code of Conduct, and other corporate policies.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, related technical field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience

  • Overall 10 years of industry experience
  • Minimum 3 years leading projects or a team
  • Experience with continuous integration and delivery and automation practices and tools
  • Knowledge in object-oriented analysis and design with the ability to practice across multiple languages
  • Ability to demonstrate and lead others in sound software development practices and techniques
  • Experience with ITIL, AGILE, and SDLC methodologies
  • Polished communication skills, broad technical knowledge and high self-confidence
  • Excellent listening, critical thinking, and problem solving skills

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities 

  • Ability to manage medium to large size project teams
  • Ability to project management in terms of planning, execution, identify & addressing project risks and issues, conducting project reviews and delivery as per agreed timeline and quality
  • Ability to define and review test strategy

  • Must have an intellectual curiosity and the ability to research, learn and apply new methodologies and technologies with minimal supervision or direction.
  • Strong workload management skills and the ability to work under competing priorities.
  • Ability to perform under pressure both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential to thriving in a fast paced, constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language in a business environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and exceptional written/verbal communication skills with the ability to interact with teams from both a business and technical background, in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ability to use a personal computer.  Proficiency with other Microsoft Office applications.

Preferred

  • Experience with software development and Testing tracking tools such as ADO, Jira and Confluence
  • Experience with ITIL tools such as Helix and Service Desk, SalesForce
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint
