What You’ll Do:

IMG is an industry-leading global sports marketing agency, specializing in media rights management and sales, multi-channel content production and distribution, brand partnerships, digital services, and events management. It powers growth of revenues, fanbases and IP for more than 200 federations, associations, events, and teams, including the National Football League, English Premier League, International Olympic Committee, National Hockey League, Major League Soccer, ATP and WTA Tours, the All England Lawn Tennis & Croquet Club (Wimbledon), EuroLeague Basketball, DP World Tour, and The R&A, as well as UFC, WWE, and PBR. IMG is a subsidiary of TKO, a premium sports and entertainment company. 

The Senior Creative Director is a key role in our global marketing team based in Chiswick, London. As guardian and executor of our creative vision and work, you’ll lead a remarkable creative team and be responsible for driving creativity across the agency as well as continuing to grow and build our high performing creative team. We are looking for someone who is both a visionary conceptual thinker and an expert in design execution. This role requires a unique blend of strategic creativity and impeccable design skills to develop compelling, innovative, and visually stunning marketing campaigns. The ideal candidate will lead a team of designers and creatives to produce world-class brands, campaigns, content and brand experiences that connect with rightsholders, clubs, leagues, sports fans and drive impactful results for us and for our clients. 

Please Note:

  • This role will be based at Chiswick Park, with some flexibility on remote working as appropriate
  • May be required to attend (and travel to) locations, including other IMG buildings and meetings
  • Unsocial hours may be required, as dictated by the demands of the business schedule

Key Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To:

  • Develop and oversee the creative direction of marketing campaigns, ensuring innovative, high-quality, and impactful storytelling.
  • Conceptualize and execute big campaign ideas that drive engagement and brand affinity
  • Oversee the development of brand identities, campaign assets, motion graphics, and digital experiences.
  • Own the creative and strategic direction of the IMG brand.
  • You’ll play a major role in delivering the creative for campaigns and activations that land our brand mission: ‘Power The World’s Passion for Sports’ and that bring our values, people, capabilities and agency USPs to life for the wider sports industry and our target audiences
  • Lead and collaborate with strategy, sports management, commercial, digital, content & our studios & productions teams to develop considered and effective creative approaches and campaigns based on current cultural insights and a good understanding of the consumer & brand
  • Run projects and pitches with minimal senior oversight - championing creative direction, intent and creative excellence whilst being aware of commercial pressures including resourcing, budget and profitability
  • Communicate and champion creative thinking and technical execution to clients throughout each project
  • Provide hands-on design expertise to elevate visual storytelling across all platforms.
  • Answer briefs with great work as a solo creative, and a great leader. Get hands-on
  • Understand how to brief craft specialists – designers or directors, for example – to deliver projects against your creative vision
  • Nurture, mentor and develop a team of designers & motion graphic designers to be the best they can be and deliver work that works. Know when to step in, know when to step back
  • Be an excellent strategic and creative partner to our clients
  • Maintain a deep understanding of sports culture, trends, and the evolving media landscape to keep our creative output fresh and relevant.
  • You’ll lead by example and immerse yourself within our client’s business so you can identify, understand and overcome commercial and internal challenges, inspiring and delivering the best and most progressive work possible, whilst still considering the holistic needs of the brand
  • Present and pitch creative concepts to clients, stakeholders, and executive leadership with clarity and enthusiasm.

You Will Have The Following Strengths:

  • Extensive experience in a creative leadership role, preferably within a sports marketing or advertising agency.
  • You have a stunning portfolio showcasing years of conceptual thinking and high-end design execution for both B2B & B2C audiences
  • Proven ability to develop breakthrough campaign ideas and execute them through impeccable design.
  • Years of management, mentoring & creative leadership experience
  • Superior knowledge of design, illustration, typography, layout, photography, motion and video
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite, motion graphics, typography, and branding.
  • Extensive experience in video production, experiential marketing, and digital campaigns
  • Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and mentor creatives.
  • Strong presentation and storytelling skills to sell big ideas to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Passion for sports and a deep understanding of how to engage consumers through compelling creative
  • You are an inspiring, passionate, creative leader who can present confidently and nurture ambitious creatives
  • You naturally foster a culture of creative-thinking, idea generation and collaboration while ensuring top-of-the-line service and timely results
  • You can take a high-level understanding of a brief and provide clarity of thought and direction to a team
  • You are both a hands-on designer and creative leader & manager
  • Entrepreneurial and commercially minded with a desire to exceed expectations and ability to communicate creative strategy to senior leaders and key stakeholders with ease
  • Strong work ethic & very proactive approach
