Technical Delivery Manager is responsible for successful delivery of quality products that meet customer requirements within the project budget and timeline. The project manager must be able to understand the business drivers and requirements of initiatives, build relationships with stakeholders, form productive teams, develop plans, and manage all aspects of large-scale project execution. The project manager will utilize expertise and leadership skills to direct staff and to resolve issues to ensure project goals and requirements are met. Adapts departmental plans and priorities to address resource and operational challenges. Provides technical guidance to employees, colleagues and/or customers. Employs Agile development practices. Anticipates internal and/or external business challenges and/or regulatory issues; recommends process, product or service improvements.

How will you make an impact?

Vision, Strategy, and Planning

• Collaborate with Business partners and IT Leadership Team to develop tactical support of strategic initiatives.

• Develop a practical roadmap to implement architected solutions.

• Work with Enterprise Architecture and other groups as necessary to ensure that application architectures are implemented

Collaboration

Product/Project Management

• Create project requests following the policies and procedures governing the process. 

• As part of the project request, include all necessary resourcing and budget estimates. 

• Ensure all interested parties are kept updated on the progress throughout the life of the project.

• Coordinate the team to implement the project.

• Run the project using Agile practices and approved tracking software. 

• Set the cadence for all related Scrum ceremonies. 

• Coordinate all related meetings including standups, backlog grooming, and all kickoffs, planning, and closing of sprints.

• All staff, onshore or offshore, should understand their responsibilities and assignments at the start of each sprint.

• Coordinate and ensure that all software built is properly tested through each environment. 

• Automated testing should be employed whenever possible.

• Collaborate with QA, Performance Test, and Security to help facilitate all work in this area. 

• Work with our CAB and customers to coordinate release dates of our software. 

• Follow all needed procedures to properly close any active projects after completion.

Operations Management

• Create a cadence for completing operational releases following Agile practices. 

• Develop a backlog in collaboration with customers and IT to maintain software releases in production. 

• Set the cadence for all related Scrum ceremonies using approved software. 

• Coordinate all related meetings including standups, backlog grooming, and all kickoffs, planning, and closing of sprints.

• All staff, onshore or offshore, should understand their responsibilities and assignments at the start of each sprint.

• Coordinate and ensure that all software built is properly tested through each environment. 

• Automated testing should be employed whenever possible.

• Collaborate with QA, Performance Test, and Security to help facilitate all work in this area.

Technical Direction

• Collaborate with DSO, Cloud Engineering, Enterprise Architecture and other teams to establish and maintain evolving technical standards for development across the enterprise. 

• Work with Principals, Leads, and Senior Engineers to set these standards and advocate for new technical concepts that drive efficiency and continuous improvement.

• Facilitate or lead discussions with audiences possessing diverse technical backgrounds.

• Partner with the team to pinpoint and centralize redundant shared capabilities within the enterprise.

What will you bring to the role?

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree

• 5-7 years of related work experience

• 5-7 years of supervisory experience

• 5 years' experience managing project using Agile ceremonies.

• 4 years' experience using Jira and Confluence for managing Agile ceremonies.

• 4 years' experience managing projects utilizing native AWS services.

• 3 years' managing projects using CDK for IaC in a serverless implementation.

• 4 years' experience managing project deployments using CI/CD such as GitHub actions and workflows.

• 3 years' experience managing onshore/offshore teams.

Preferred Experience:

• Experience working with Launch Darkly; Scrum Master Certification.
• Use of DORA metrics to measure project health; Jira reporting to measure both velocities and developer productivity.
• Experience using SAFe practices such as PI Planning

Certifications/Specialized Skills:

• AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification.
• Communication skills needed to run a highly technical team and provide updates to diverse audiences.
• Strong leadership skills to build trust with team and business.
• Excellent problem-solving skills to address any project issues.
• Ability to manage complex projects impacting multiple teams using different technologies.

 

Remote Work Eligibility

This position is eligible for remote work in the contiguous US

Compensation Grade Range and Mid-Point

Grade Range:$124,500.00 - $231,300.00/ Grade Mid-Point:$177,900.00

The above annual compensation range and mid-point are general guidelines. For candidates who meet the criteria, the AAMC's compensation philosophy is to target the midpoint of the salary range. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, as well as internal equity, market, and business considerations.

If a bachelor’s degree is required, related work experience may be substituted in some positions.  One year of college course work at an accredited institution is equivalent to one year of related work experience.
