Position Purpose: Provides content creation and copy support for government-sponsored health plans and other partners. Projects span from brand marketing through acquisition to onboarding and retention. Advanced ability to create, write, and edit copy to meet established corporate brand and quality standards while serving members, contracted providers, and prospective members and providers.
- Writes and edits copy to ensure materials and/or web content are clear, concise and audience appropriate.
- Collaborates with subject matter experts, copywriters, designers, business partners and others to create effective messages designed to achieve business objectives and meet client needs.
- Assesses readability to ensure communications comply with required reading levels.
- Applies approved corporate style and branding standards to ensure consistency in copy and design.
- Corrects errors in type, format, grammar, punctuation, and spelling (notes corrections electronically and on paper using standard proofreader's marks).
- Documents and provides proofs with marked corrections to be revised and reviewed.
- Ensures accuracy of material and/or web content through research. Escalates concerns to key stakeholders regarding content that may need review.
- Creates, manages, and distributes resources that help others apply approved corporate style and branding standards to ensure consistency and compliance in copy and design.
- Coordinates and facilitates kickoff/strategy meetings for special projects and assignments.
- Assists management with process development and implementation of best practices for the copy team.
- Assists management with resource management including schedules), distribution of work, recruiting, staff training and performance input.
- Schedules and leads copy team meetings, assigns tasks, summarize, and distribute meeting notes and action items as needed.
Education/Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, marketing, communications or related field. or equivalent experience. 5+ years of experience in copywriting, editing within an agency, in-house corporate agency, or publishing environment. Experience working within an insurance or managed care industry highly desired. Experience in the development of marketing/educational communications. Strong business-to-consumer communication experience. Excellent written, editing, and verbal communication skills. Ability to drive health literacy by translating complex health into easily understandable communications. Attention to detail along with time management skills a must.
Pay Range: $68,700.00 - $123,700.00 per year
