Job description

Job Summary

This position is responsible for maintaining a thorough understanding of life and annuity products, business and vendor platforms and extracts through the delivery of comprehensive documentation and collaboration with business partners. This position will be subject matter expert and must have extensive product knowledge to support TPA development and downstream system integrations.

This position will be part of the Insurance Operations Product Implementation Team.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop business requirements used to support product/riders as well as determine and document technical impacts in partnership with internal business partners. (examples- Retail Product, Actuarial, Finance)
  • Develop test plans and scripts in collaboration with Retail Actuarial Technicians.
  • Review and update system related documentation that may include vendor technical documentation, mapping documents and flow charts.
  • Execute targeted testing and sign-off on test results in partnership with internal business partners.
  • Such testing includes values testing, policy print testing and data integration.
  • Product knowledge subject matter expert for TPA development as well as downstream system integrations
  • Evaluate and analyze existing or proposed business systems and process with continuous improvement mindset.
  • Rate database support
  • Sox control support
  • Administrative System:
    • Work with the Administrative System personnel to ensure that new products or any enhancements are correctly implemented on the system.
    • Advise on plan setup, advise on test plans, validation of test results and error resolution.
  • Illustration Software & Sales Tools:
    • Work with Illustration & Sales tool team to ensure consistency with setup of Administrative System.

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and applicable work experience required.
  • 5+ years of technical/professional experience preferred in financial services industry
  • Life insurance and/or annuity product knowledge is required with preference for Indexed UL and Fixed Indexed Annuity experience
  • Strong technical, analytical, organizational, computer, and team skills.
  • Able to perform in a fast-paced production environment while addressing multiple projects and responsibilities
  • Familiarity with Insurance administration systems, compensation systems and producer web sites

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
  • Proficient with database structures and tables, spreadsheet applications and working knowledge of Visual Basic or related applications.
  • Must be extremely detail oriented, analytical and be able handle multiple projects
  • Team player with demonstrated ability to proactively identify issues and to influence key project decisions to achieve desired outcomes
  • Self-starter who demonstrates strong initiative and is able to operate efficiently in unpredictable and challenging project environments
  • Ability to interact with personnel at all levels of the organization in both technical and business areas successfully
  • Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Familiarity with CRM tools.
