Job description

🚀 We’re on a mission to make money work for everyone.

We’re waving goodbye to the complicated and confusing ways of traditional banking.

With our hot coral cards and get-paid-early feature, combined with financial education on social media and our award winning customer service, we have a long history of creating magical moments for our customers!

We’re not about selling products - we want to solve problems and change lives through Monzo ❤️

Hear from our team about what it's like working at Monzo

⭐Our People team

We are looking for a brilliant, commercial People Partner to join our current partnering team. In this role, you will work closely with some of our most senior GMs and Product Leads, sitting on their leadership teams and helping drive growth through our people while staying aligned with our culture.

We call it Monzo Magic: Mission. Action. Growth. Inclusion. Care. It runs through everything we do. Within the People Collective, it’s how we set Monzo up for success—bringing mission-led people together to do work and banking differently.

We foster a culture that centers on our customers, combining the best of tech with the best of banking. We empower a diverse, high-performing, innovative, and agile workforce to do the most impactful work of their careers. Scaling this culture and way of working is an ambitious task, but it’s a mission we’re committed to.

🔑You’ll play a key role by...

You will work side by side with our leaders to design and deliver their people strategy, ensuring an exceptional people experience while coaching key product leaders and GMs. You’ll play a critical role in shaping and building new people processes, continuously iterating on existing ones—always looking for ways to keep things magically simple. Your expertise and wisdom will be invaluable in coaching our Monzonauts to drive great outcomes.

Collaboration is key. You’ll work closely with your peers in the People Collective, leveraging their expertise to strengthen your relationships with leaders and client groups. You’ll also take a thoughtful approach to how an organization like Monzo can scale and thrive—exploring how our people policies, processes, and ways of working can accelerate our growth.

As part of the leadership team in your business area, your impact will be significant, but your home team will be the People Partner Squad within the People Collective. Come and join us on this journey!

🔧What you'll be doing…

As a key partner to General Managers and Product Leaders in some of our most impactful collectives (our brilliant cross-discipline teams that create amazing experiences for our customers), you will play a crucial role in shaping and delivering a people plan that supports our growth strategy. Your impact will include:

  • Driving a high-performance culture – Partnering with leaders to develop innovative strategies for managing, motivating and retaining key talent while fostering an empathetic, high-performance environment.
  • Collaborating on hiring strategy – Working closely with our hiring teams to design and execute a strategy that meets our ambitious hiring plans.
  • Leading talent rituals – Running and evolving our annual talent rituals to ensure high performance and consistency remain at the heart of everything we do.
  • Boosting engagement – Partnering with leadership to drive strong engagement within their collectives.
  • Enhancing employee experience – Creating initiatives that ensure our Monzonauts are happy, engaged, and able to do their best work for our customers.
  • Scaling sustainably – Ensuring healthy and sustainable growth through strong organisational design.
  • Navigating complex people issues – Partnering with our People Advisory Squad to tackle challenging ER and people matters while always keeping our customers and culture at the centre of decision-making.
  • Customer obsession – Thinking through the lens of our customers and ensuring great service for our Monzonauts.
  • Embedding Monzo’s culture and values – Working closely with Monzo Group to ensure a consistent and meaningful employee experience.
  • Advancing diversity, equity and belonging – Collaborating with our Diversity Lead to drive measurable change in company-wide DEB goals and supporting leaders in developing inclusive practices.
  • Leveraging data to drive change – Identifying trends in people data and using insights to improve organisational health and stakeholder decision-making.
  • Empowering leaders – Coaching and developing managers to help them grow as effective leaders.
  • Optimising people processes – Partnering with leaders in People (Learning & Development, Reward, Talent, etc.) to ensure team-specific needs are met while keeping processes effective and magically simple.
  • Bringing in external best practices – Always staying curious and learning from other customer-focused tech companies to keep Monzo at the forefront of people innovation.
