• Estimated Compensation: $35.46 per hour (Negotiable)
• Type of Employment: Part-Time = 20 hours per week with on-call hours.
• Performance Period: 01 March 2025 31 August 2024 (6 Months).

• Paid Time Off per Year: Up to 40 hours per year, occurring on day one.
• Sick Leave per Year: Up to 56 hours per year, occurring on day one.

Working Hours
The Ultrasound Technician work may fluctuate between the hours of 6:00 am to 6:00 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break. The Ultrasound Technician will be required to perform on-call on a rotating basis with other Ultrasound Technicians.

Summary of Duties
The Ultrasound Technician shall provide diagnostic ultrasound exam services on-site and on-call duty at the Medical Center. These services will include receiving patients and answering patient questions regarding exam procedures. Clinical competency shall be assessed on an ongoing basis, is true for all Ultrasound Technologist, and to the reported as provider-specific practice information at the time or an accreditation body with equal or better standards Joint Commission

Qualifications

• Completion of the Radiologic Technologist training program.
• Current Degree or Certification by the following:
  • Associates degree in Sonography.
  • American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT).
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
  • American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).

or

• Preferred Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) certification.
• A minimum of one year of experience.
• Ultrasound Technologist(s) will be credentialed prior to providing services and must be found acceptable by the Medical Staff Office at the G (V) Sonny Montgomery VAMC.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform all diagnostic ultrasound exam services according to policies and procedures in the ASRT, ACR, and RVT.
• Operation of the Veterans Affairs VistA Imaging" system
  • A Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) developed by the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) to integrate various medical images like X-rays, CT scans, and pathology slides directly into a patient's electronic medical record within the VistA healthcare system; essentially allowing for seamless access to radiology images within the patient's full medical history.
• Complete CPRS notes, notes to the teleradiology, forms to teleradiology, and Tech forms for all examinations/images.
