This role can be based in Jacksonville, FL; Newport, RI; Marion, MA; or remote for the right candidate!
Primary Responsibilities Lead with Expertise: Take the helm as the technical lead on diverse waterfront and coastal projects, guiding design and execution with your knowledge and creativityInnovate and Implement: Stay ahead of the curve by identifying and implementing cutting-edge design and engineering technologies that set new industry standardsAnalyze and Design: Use your skills to perform intricate calculations and structural analyses, crafting and reviewing design drawings for a variety of marine infrastructure projectsDrive Projects to Success: Collaborate with Project Managers to oversee project lifecycles, ensuring budgets, schedules, and quality standards are metCraft and Contribute: Develop comprehensive construction documents and contribute to Foth's growing technical library in coastal engineeringEngage and Expand: Play a pivotal role in client relations and business development, from crafting compelling proposals to nurturing lasting relationshipsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, or Coastal Engineering with an emphasis in geotechnical engineering, coastal engineering, or related engineering degree7+ years of coastal engineering experience in the areas of feasibility, design, and/or construction managementProfessional Engineer license (or ability to obtain within 12 months of hire)Previous experience developing construction documents, including plans and specificationsExperience with construction projects in at least one of the following areas: sediment dredging and disposal, beach nourishmentPrior experience with wave analysis Mapping software experience (2D, 3D, data visualization)Experience with beach/offshore geological investigationsPrior data evaluation experienceProject permitting experienceExperience with the development of data transmittals per regulatory agency format reqsPrevious experience working with regulatory agencies
Preferred Qualifications A Master's Degree in Civil, Structural, or Coastal Engineering with an emphasis in geotechnical engineering, coastal engineering, or related engineering degree10+ years of experience, particularly in an engineering consultancy focused on coastal or environmental projects.Previous experience integrating engineering with environmental sciences and working with regulators on coastal projects.Experience with Optimoor software programWhy Foth:
