Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Azure Cloud Architect to lead the design, development, and implementation of robust, scalable, and secure applications in Microsoft Azure. The ideal candidate will be an expert in architecting and managing Azure-based solutions, with a strong focus on configuring Azure resources, optimizing cloud performance, ensuring security, and designing highly available network infrastructures. Additionally, experience in integrating generative AI capabilities within Azure environments is a plus.


This role will involve working with cross-functional teams to ensure Azure applications are built with best practices for performance, security, cost-efficiency, and maintainability.


Job Responsibilities


Application Architecture & Design:

  • Architect end-to-end cloud-native solutions using Azure services, ensuring scalability, performance, and fault tolerance.
  • Create and implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) templates using tools such as ARM Templates, Terraform, or Bicep.

Azure Resources Management:

  • Configure and manage Azure  resources, including Virtual Machines, Azure App Services, Azure Functions, Azure Logic Apps, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS).
  • Design high-availability solutions using Azure Load Balancers, Traffic Manager, and Application Gateway.

Networking:

  • Configure and manage network security using Azure Firewall, NSGs (Network Security Groups), Private Links, and Azure Front Door.
  • Ensure robust connectivity between on-premises environments and Azure using hybrid networking solutions including Azure Virtual Networks (VNets), subnets, VPN gateways, and ExpressRoute.

Security & Compliance:

  • Implement advanced security solutions using Azure Security Center, Azure Defender, RBAC, and Azure Key Vault.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and organizational policies.

Monitoring  & Optimization:

  • Optimize cloud infrastructure for cost, performance, and scalability.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot and resolve Azure-related application and infrastructure issues

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with development teams to ensure architecture is aligned with business requirements and technical needs.
  • Guide DevOps teams in  implementing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or other tools.

AI Integration (Optional/Bonus):

  • Integrate Azure Cognitive Services, Azure OpenAI, or similar AI tools into existing Azure applications.
  • Design workflows that incorporate generative AI and multimodal capabilities within the Azure ecosystem.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in application architecture and development, with 5+ years focused on Azure.
  • Proven expertise in architecting  solutions using core Azure services such as App Services, AKS, Azure Functions, and Logic Apps.
  • Strong understanding of Azure networking, security, and storage services.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to mentor junior team members.

Certifications (Preferred):

  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert (required or strongly preferred).
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate.
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert.
  • Any relevant certifications in AI (bonus).


Remote Work Information

Compensation Information

The average salary for this position is expected to be between $90,000 and $140,000/year however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. We do not anticipate candidates to be paid at the top of the range however, from time to time, it may occur on a case-by-case basis.
