LOCATION:  Remote – this is a home based, virtual position that operates within the hours of 8:30am-5:00pm EST. Vaya Health welcomes applications from NC, SC, GA, TN, VA, MD, and FL.

 


GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

The Quality Data and Improvement Analyst provides administrative and operational support for Quality Management with a focus on data analysis, quality assessment, process improvement, and performance reporting. This position will structure, collect, compile, and analyze data and reporting in order to support Quality Management operational standards and metrics. It will also utilize data and reports to assess for overall quality, program effectiveness, and outcomes for members and provide insight and recommendations in order to continually improve Quality Management operations. This position will participate in quality improvement conversations with internal and external stakeholders throughout all levels of the organization and provide data-driven insights that improve the health outcomes and satisfaction of our members in North Carolina. The Quality Data Analyst must have a strong background in data analysis and quality assurance with a keen eye for detail. The Quality Data Analyst will examine complex data sets to ensure accuracy, reliability and communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Proactive and strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team are essential skills for this role. A strong understanding of data governance and compliance standards is required to ensure that data practices adhere to industry regulations. This position is crucial in supporting the Quality Management Department to make data driven decision by providing high quality data insights.

 

 

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Establish and maintain good working relationships throughout the organization to support department, division, and organizational goals and objectives.
  • Organize and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines among concurrent projects, project teams, and/or management staff.
  • Partner with internal customers to define business needs, issues, and translate ideas into effective strategies and action plans for various types of stakeholders.
  • Develop metrics, research designs, and reports using business rules and requirements.
  • Collect and summarize performance data, identify opportunities for improvement, and present findings.
  • Analyze current workflows and standards against performance data to assess for process adherence and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Improve quality and operational effectiveness by developing strategies and recommendations from findings associated with record reviews, audits, spreadsheets, and surveys.
  • Utilize different statistical techniques and tests (i.e., Chi-square test or Fisher’s exact) to interpret and report the statistical significance of various quality projects.
  • Assist with data collection, analysis, and reporting of quality improvement activities and projects. 
  • Present results, findings, interpretations, and recommendations regarding quality management to both internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Implement quality management principles, theories, and tools to facilitate process improvements.
  • Develop or adapt process and outcome measures in support of quality improvement goals. 
  • Conduct regular data audits and quality assessments.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and industry standards. 

 

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Powerpoint), Adobe, and experience with pivot tables, graphs, charts, etc.
  • Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills with understanding of statistics and algebra required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of state and federal rules, requirements, and practices related to Vaya's operations in North Carolina is beneficial.
  • Project management and administration background with the ability to work with organizational leadership to present data and results is beneficial.
  • Ability to develop organizational performance reports according to standard templates.
  • Ability to analyze data to identify root causes and develop an approach for responding.
  • Ability to complete tasks in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and projects.
  • Strong organizational skills with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently with little or no direction, demonstrate initiative, be goal-oriented, and function as a self-starter.
  • Ability to problem solve and provide practical, thorough, and creative solutions to work tasks.
  • Ability to learn, interpret independently, and apply a variety of complex policies and procedures.

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Human Services, Quality, Finance, Business Administration, or related field(s).

  • At least two years of experience as a business, quality, or performance analyst required.
  • Experience in the healthcare industry strongly preferred.

 

 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS 

  • Close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparation and analysis of documents; viewing a computer terminal; and extensive reading. 
  • Physical activity in this position includes crouching, reaching, walking, talking, hearing and repetitive motion of hands, wrists and fingers. 
  • Sedentary work with lifting requirements up to 10 pounds, sitting for extended periods of time. 
  • Mental concentration is required in all aspects of work.

 

 

RESIDENCY REQUIREMENT:  The person in this position must live in NC, SC, GA, TN, VA, MD, or FL.

 

SALARY: Depending on qualifications & experience of candidate. This position is exempt and is not eligible for overtime compensation.
