Summary of role
Corporate Development group is looking to add a Senior Associate to its team of professionals. Senior Associates play an integral role on the deal team and while day to day responsibilities is diverse, core responsibilities include the below.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare financial models to evaluate strategic transactions (acquisitions, mergers, joint ventures, divestitures and investments); develop valuation analysis based on discounted cash flows, comparable company and precedent transactions; evaluate pro forma impact under various financing scenarios.
- Develop presentations for senior management, Board of Directors and shareholders.
- Execute and oversee due diligence process including liaison with business units and enterprise functions, manage subject matter experts (legal, tax, finance, etc.)
- Collaborate with relevant business units and functional business units across AIG to further transaction initiatives and strategy.
- Develop and maintain a deep understanding of emerging trends and industry dynamics.
Qualifications:
- B.A. / B.S. degree is required. A focus in finance or accounting is preferred.
- 3+ plus years of M&A experience (Corporate Development, Investment Banking or Private Equity) with experience executing all aspects of M&A transactions.
- Knowledge of life & annuity industry
- Extensive understanding of the M&A and reinsurance M&A process and proven track record executing M&A transactions through the entire deal lifecycle
- Demonstrated analytical and quantitative abilities with experience performing financial and valuation analysis.
- Superior and executive level communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal), ability to communicate to all audience levels.
- Organizational skills necessary to support / lead multiple projects under strict deadlines.
- Highly motivated, performance driven and team oriented.
- Advanced knowledge of MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
- Proficient in writing and creating / editing PowerPoint and/or Thinkcell presentations.
- FactSet, CapIQ and Bloomberg proficiency
