Sophia is an industry-leading provider of low-cost, self-paced online general education courses that are transferable for college credit. We are searching for a detail-oriented and analytical Performance Marketing Associate to join the Sophia marketing team.

Reporting to the Senior Performance Marketing Manager, this Sophia team is responsible for the growth and marketability of the platform and its offerings.
This role is responsible for executing display, mobile, search, video, native, OOH, TV, audio, and social paid campaigns. This role will manage and execute Digital Media strategy (both brand and direct response) in partnership with Sophia’s digital agency partners.
Under the guidance of the Sr. Performance Marketing Manager, this person will work cross-functionally across partner-facing roles , creative teams, media analytics teams, and internal and external stakeholders to drive marketing results and achieve business objectives. While primarily focused on driving B2C learners, the role will also support the development of future B2B and B2U (business to university) campaigns as well.
The right person for this role is innately curious, detail-oriented, enjoys problem solving, and wants to deepen their skills and expertise in paid media. They should also thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial company.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for communicating goals, budgets and strategic considerations to agency partners; works closely with agency/s to ensure campaigns meet expectations
- Brainstorm, manage, execute and measure success of paid media campaigns to drive Sophia learners and meet defined goals and KPIs.
- Oversee day-to-day performance across all paid media channels, including Facebook, TikTok, Reddit, Google, YouTube, CTV, Bing, and more; leverage media agency where relevant to execute quickly and efficiently to market. Escalate campaign performance issues or concerns to manager as appropriate.
- Responsible for the analysis and documentation of campaign performance, optimization recommendations and communicating results effectively to appropriate stakeholders
- Lead campaign set-up and acts as a liaison between agency and internal/external partners for resources such as tracking implementation and data. Oversee workflow to meet or exceed deadlines and perform quality assurance.
- Collaborate with analytics team for reporting needs and weekly media insights.
- Manage our marketing budget tracker and invoicing
- In partnership with their manager, build campaign calendars and project plans to deliver on strategies and marketing KPIs. This is inclusive of optimizing existing campaigns, launching new campaigns, landing page testing, etc, in partnership with the appropriate analytics teams.
- Draft creative briefs and work with internal and external creative teams to execute creative to leverage across campaigns, including landing pages.
- Partner closely with the wider marketing team to ensure media strategy is in alignment with messaging and delivering the target audience as established by brand team
Job Skills:
- Highly proficient user of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required
- Excellent time management skills and proven ability to work in environments with competing priorities
- Self-motivated with the ability to multi-task many projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment, but knows when to ask questions or get more clarity
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work and collaborate cross-functionally and independently where appropriate
- Proven working experience in digital marketing with demonstrable experience executing social media (paid and organic), display advertising, paid search, and other paid media tactics
- Ability to analyze and present data and findings clearly, concisely, and accurately, and be able to draw meaningful conclusions and recommendations for action
- Experience in optimizing landing pages and user funnels.
- Data-driven thinking and an affinity for numbers.
Work Experience:
- • 2+ years in media planning/buying role (agency experience preferred) including experience in campaign strategy, execution, and reporting / analysis.
- Proven communication and influence skills
- Experience in working on SaaS or edtech is preferred, but not required
- B2C digital marketing experience required.
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree required

- Must be able to travel occasionally should a business need arise. For most roles travel would not be common. Travel may involve plane, car or metro.
