Job Summary

Our team is seeking a Field Applications Associate Principal Engineer. This position can be based remotely or in the Henrico VA area and will report to our Sr Director, Sales Operations.

This Field Applications Associate Principal Engineer will be accountable for providing technical guidance and information to customers on a pre-sales and post-sales basis to enable delivery of design, fabrication, and assembly goals, per customers’ expectations.

What a typical day looks like:

  • Provide technical support to sales team and clients throughout the enquiry process;
  • Be able to engage with clients/consultants to ensure we are in control of the design process and influence Plans and Specifications.
  • Review and approve equipment drawings / specifications including assisting with the design / development of RFP submittals;
  • Minimising exposure and risk throughout the sales process by assisting the sales team completing CDEs and other required technical documentation;
  • Assist with the coordination of key project proposals during the handover process to operations;
  • Conduct product seminars and training on Anord Mardix product and solutions to: end customers, consultant engineers, and sales team.
  • Positive engagement in the developing company’s products and to facilitate the sales execution;
  • Assist design departments with product compliance to the relevant industry standards;
  • To help provide technical direction in product design to drive innovation of the Anord Mardix solutions;
  • Proactive risk identification and recognise system deficiencies and implement effective technical solutions;
  • Uses technical knowledge of products and associated development tools to assist customers on complex issues.
  • Assists with the development of complex product roadmaps.
  • Develops and maintains ongoing relationships with product and business development teams.
  • Provides technical expertise during product development by defining customer product needs and translating these needs into new product recommendations and specifications.
  • Reviews customer requirements, identifies and communicates potential issues and provides recommendations that will meet both the capabilities Flex and the specifications of the customer.
  • Identifies and communicates existing and potential design issues both internally and externally.
  • Coordinates product integration efforts between component suppliers, Flex, and the customer.
  • Develops and presents technical seminars for customers and sales personnel to promote employers' manufacturing capabilities, services, available technologies, manufacturing process and quality.
  • Works with customer representatives to coordinate vendor qualification surveys.
  • Provides best in class, complex, technical assistance by answering and closing all customer and program management technical questions related to manufacturing capabilities including design, fabrication, and assembly abilities.
  • Defines initial project/product scope and prepares project plans to meet customers' expectations.
  • Prepares detailed project plans by documenting customers' requirements and incorporating design and manufacturing capabilities to meet customers’ expectations.
  • Prepares and maintains required documentation.
  • May be required to sit at customer site.



The experience we are looking to add to our team:

  • Typically require a bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
  • Typically requires 10+ years of related experience.
  • Demonstrates expert operations, technical and people and/or process skills as well as customer (external and internal) relationship skills.
  • Demonstrates mastery of expertise in multiple areas and industry.
  • Demonstrates mastery of functional knowledge in relation to other functions and a complete understanding of the function and those of related businesses.
  • Impacts the medium-term (semi-annual/annual) direction and financial or operational success of the function.
  • Approves and/or creates functional processes or technologies.
  • Executes and provides input to functional strategic plans and objectives for site.
  • Assists in developing plans for structuring and implementing major initiatives.
  • Defines/ determines and approves functional methods, standards, policies and procedures.

Pay Range (Applicable to US Remote). Due to this role being remote, the actual pay range will vary depending on the geographical location of the candidate
$114,800.00 USD - $157,800.00 USD Annual
