Financial Auditor and Investigator

We are seeking a data-driven, highly motivated and detail-oriented Financial Auditor for Sales to join our team to play a critical role in ensuring customer compliance with their contractual obligations to Cincom Systems. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting comprehensive audits on customer company revenue streams, evaluating customer financial records, and identifying any discrepancies in sales transactions and financial reporting. In addition, you will assist the sales team in investigating and understanding the likely and actual revenue streams of customers through publicly available data (e.g. financial reports, press reports, LinkedIn posts, work force data, conference talks, etc.) to determine audit candidates and assist provide information to assist sales in negotiations, Your ability to critically analyze data and assess financial and commercial data and financial controls will be essential in ensuring compliance and accuracy in sales tracking and revenue recognition.

The ideal candidate will have a strong financial background with experience in auditing sales, revenue streams, and financial controls. An interest in the investigative side of auditing, where the companies you will be auditing will be potentially concealing information. This position requires a high level of analytical thinking, problem-solving, and the ability to uncover inconsistencies, and active concealment in financial records and customer reporting.

While the day to day for this role is remote, there will be required travel of up to 15% of the time.

Key Responsibilities:

· Perform audits on company sales transactions, reviewing revenue streams, customer financial records, and compliance with financial policies.

· Analyze customer books and financial data to detect discrepancies between reported sales and actual revenue tracking.

· Evaluate the design and effectiveness of financial controls to ensure proper revenue recognition and compliance with accounting standards.

· Investigate and research how products and services are being sold, how customers are tracking their usage, and their impact on overall financial reporting.

· Contribute to pre-audit assessments to assess potential license violations and the risk/reward of conducting an audit.

· Collaborate with Sales, Legal, Finance, Engineering and IT to ensure consistency and accuracy in customer financial reporting, licensing, using the appropriate resources when needed.Provide clear, actionable reports outlining audit findings, recommendations, and any necessary corrective actions.

· Keep up to date with industry financial regulations, accounting standards, and auditing best practices.

· Assist in the development of audit processes and documentation to improve efficiency and accuracy in future audits.

· Evidence may be used in court cases so compliance to legal requirements for audit processes and data retention etc. is required.

Requirements

· Financial Proficiency: Strong expertise in financial auditing, revenue tracking, and financial data analysis.

· Experience in Sales Audits: Previous experience in auditing sales transactions, revenue streams, or financial compliance within a business environment.

· Understanding of Financial Controls: In-depth knowledge of accounting standards, revenue recognition policies, and financial reporting frameworks.

· Problem-Solving and Research Skills: Ability to investigate complex financial issues, conduct audits, and synthesize findings into actionable conclusions.

· Attention to Detail: Meticulous approach to reviewing financial records and data to ensure accuracy and compliance with financial policies.

· Ability to work in a mixed team: of sales professionals, technical experts and investigators to get the job done.

· Excellent Communication: Ability to work with customers who may not want a successful audit, once an audit or pre-audit investigation is complete, to clearly present audit findings and communicate financial issues effectively to sales and financial teams, and to customers where required.
