Job Purpose

Reporting to the VP, IT & SCADA, and a dotted line to the Chief Accounting Officer, the ERP Manager will lead the team that is responsible for a diverse ERP environment and applications for the planning, maintenance, expansion, and overall support of ERP, Business Intelligence and related applications, and integrations with third-party applications. This position will provide oversight, project management, and functional and technical support to ensure the smooth operation and support of the organization's ERP environment with users located in Boston as well as those working remotely.  This role will require coming into the Boston office at least 3x a week.


Responsibilities 

  • Assess, plan, and coordinate projects with the internal ERP support team and vendors
  • Conduct in-depth discovery meetings, targeted at understanding, capturing, and identifying the complex business requirements and operational objectives
  • Perform project scoping, planning, and business process mapping
  • Develop functional and process design and prototyping solutions
  • Leverage technical expertise to implement solutions in the ERP, including, but not limited to, configuration, developing forms, queries etc.
  • Create/modify reports and data loading templates
  • Produce documents of functional and technical requirements and test scripts
  • Assist, participate and conduct user testing and user training
  • Deliver and maintain user guides, training documents, administration guides, and validation documents
  • Maintain SOC-1 compliance and adherence to company policies
  • Actively participate in annual disaster recovery drills and test restores
  • Perform user administrator role and provide prompt user support
  • Provide project management and oversight of software implementations including the development of plans, schedules, tasks, resources, and communication of status to all stakeholders
  • Manage the scope, timeline, and implementation budgets while maintaining a positive and professional relationship with all member company stakeholders
  • Serve as an expert and evangelist, and the point of contact for questions concerning the ERP project
  • Facilitate project meetings involving internal and external stakeholders including vendors to ensure cross-group collaboration and engagement
  • Proactively identify issues, risks, or concerns based on activities and timeframes and lead an effort to identify appropriate solutions to mitigate the impact on the project
  • Provide timely updates to management and relevant stakeholders on the project status, budget, timeline, and potential risks
  • Manage third party vendors and review and approve their expenses related to managed projects
  • Conduct post-implementation follow-ups, ensuring user satisfaction and addressing concerns


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS or equivalent 
  • 10+ years of overall relevant business experience in ERP project management in a manufacturing environment or consulting experience in a midrange ERP system (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Sage) handling sales, purchasing, manufacturing, inventory, general ledger, and reporting/business analytics
  • In-depth understanding of configuration and the business processes along with all phases of an ERP system
  • In-depth experience with administrating end-user reporting tools
  • Extensive experience in ERP project leadership, with proven experience in managing full-cycle ERP projects
  • Demonstrated experience/capability as a business system analyst or project manager to perform end-to-end project management, from business requirements, solution design, testing, documentation, deployment, and problem remediation
  • Experience working in and managing cross-functional, virtual teams with a mix of business and technical stakeholders
  • Strong organization, problem solving, and communication skills
  • Strong work ethic, ability to self-manage, take initiatives, and accountability


Desired/Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in business administration, or related field, or evidence of substantial business knowledge
  • PMP or other globally recognized project management certification
