You will be responsible for:
• Responsible for the General Ledger including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and Commission Payable
• Process ACH and paper check payments from clients; Send payments to carriers, bank reconciliations, etc
• Prepare monthly management and producer commission payable reports
• Prepare reconciliation of carrier commission statements. Resolve accounting discrepancies with insurance carriers and/or producers
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements
• Responsible for maintaining the budget using both Excel & Agency Management system
• Facilitate accounts payable process including setting up vendors, processing invoices, collecting W-9s, making payments, and 1099 process at year end
• Track and process State License renewals, other state filings as required
• Process Surplus Lines tax filings and payments
• Perform other duties as assigned by management. May support other departmental areas based on business need. Special projects as assigned
• – Assist in documenting processes to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• – Assist in the preparation of financial statements
• – Assist in annual financial audit
You will be a great fit if you have:
• Proficient in computer skills. Agency management system Applied Systems (EPIC) experience preferred, but otherwise, the ability and willingness to learn
• Experience working in a fast-paced and constantly changing startup environment
• Strong communication skills and experience in effectively presenting key data
• Strong sense of ownership, organizational and time management skills, ability to multitask and prioritize
• 3+ years of experience in accounting roles, financial and analytical roles
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• B.S. degree in accounting or equivalent knowledge and skills gained by completing office procedures coursework
• Property and Casualty insurance experience
• High proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, data management, agency management system and QuickBooks
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION
• Property and Casualty insurance license preferred but not necessary
• Cannabis Training University Certification within 3 months of hire

Pay range is $60-$80k and will depend on several factors including geographical location, relevant experience, skills and knowledge pertaining to this role and industry.
