The Debris Policy Specialist will be responsible for working directly with clients at the local and state level, providing consulting expertise on Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance (PA) Program policies and procedures. A successful candidate for this role should be a subject matter expert within FEMA PA Debris Operations, as dictated within Category A, as this professional will help guide clients in all things post-disaster related to debris. This position will be remote but will require travel to client locations as needed

Responsibilities for the Debris Policy Specialist include

  • : Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on FEMA Public Assistance (PA) Category A (Debris Removal) policy, providing guidance and interpretation to state and local government client
  • s.Advise clients on all aspects of FEMA PA debris removal policy, including eligibility criteria, documentation requirements, cost justification, and compliance with federal regulations, such as 44 CFR Part 20
  • 6.Assist clients in developing and updating debris management plans that align with FEMA PA policy and incorporate best practices for post-disaster recovery effort
  • s.Review and analyze client documentation related to debris removal activities to ensure compliance with FEMA PA policy and identify potential issues or areas for improvemen
