The primary purposes of this position is to ensure regulatory compliance for income taxes pursuant to GAAP and SEC regulations and plan, manage, and review federal and state tax compliance, government examinations, and staff development and to ensure other departments in the Corporation understand the tax impact of potential and/or actual accounting and business transactions.
Prepare quarterly and yearly ASC 740 income tax provisions & analyze financial statements and accounts to ensure that all the information is accurate and recorded properly.
Review tax returns (consolidated, federal, state, and local), journal entries, and account analyses prepared by associates in the department to ensure that all information is accurate and that all returns are filed in a timely manner.
Manage all federal and state tax audits, inquiries, and correspondence; negotiate audit settlements with internal and external auditors and correspond with state and local agencies to resolve complex tax return questions or notices.
Research federal and state laws and regulations to ensure that the Corporation is in compliance and calculate complex tax adjustments and the associated work papers for associates in the department.
Interact with the Legal department to maintain the corporate legal entity structure.
Develop, monitor the department’s compliance to, and maintain tax accounting policies and procedures.

The typical starting pay range for this position is between $115,670 - $149,145, although wages can vary based on experience and geography.
