We are looking for a talented Sourcing Team Manager to join our team specialising in Purchasing for our Manufactured Materials Department in the United Kingdom.
This remote role can be done from anywhere in the UK and requires 25% domestic and 10% international travel.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
Strategic Risk Mitigation: Actively mitigate risks associated with the migration of supply from EMEA to LCC, ensuring a stable and reliable supply chain.
Leadership in Sourcing: Lead sourcing teams to apply category strategies effectively, fostering collaboration and producing robust sourcing and procurement strategies.
Cost Reduction and Innovation: Manage strategies aimed at reducing costs, minimising risks, and fostering innovation, optimising business processes for better efficiency.
Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, serving as the primary contact for issue resolution and ensuring alignment with business goals.
Negotiation and Contract Management: Independently negotiate supplier contracts, manage the supplier selection process, and conduct complex negotiations to secure favourable terms.
Continuous Improvement and Compliance: Identify, plan, and implement continuous improvement opportunities within the supply chain, while ensuring adherence to compliance policies and mitigating risks.
Stakeholder Engagement: Advise and consult with internal business partners on sourcing and procurement processes, ensuring alignment with business unit and supply chain goals.
Team Development: Develop, lead, and motivate staff, setting goals for training, development, and performance, fostering a high-performing team.
Responsibilities
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
Strategic Thinking: Develop and implement strategies that align with Cummins' objectives and drive long-term success.
Negotiation Excellence: Utilise tools and methods to achieve mutually agreed-upon contract terms that meet Cummins' stakeholder objectives.
Supplier Relationship Management: Define and manage relationships with key/strategic suppliers using the Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process, including work plans, senior sponsor meetings, and scorecards.
Supply Base Risk Management: Proactively mitigate supplier risks using risk analysis tools and a risk mitigation playbook to manage continuity of supply, reputational risk, and margin risks.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
Significant level of relevant work experience required.
