Job description

Position Title: Strategic Communications Analyst

Location: Remote (IVO: Quantico, VA)

Clearance Level: Secret

Travel: required

 Position Overview:

The Strategic Communications Analyst will support Marine Corps CBRN sustainment and modernization initiatives by developing and executing strategic communication plans that align with DoD, Joint, and Marine Corps operational priorities. This role will focus on stakeholder engagement, policy messaging, and information dissemination to ensure that sustainment objectives are effectively communicated across Marine Corps and Joint audiences. The analyst will leverage data-driven insights, operational awareness, and messaging expertise to craft compelling narratives that enhance decision-making and operational readiness.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Messaging & Communications Planning
  • Develop and implement communication strategies that align with Marine Corps CBRN sustainment objectives.
  • Translate complex sustainment, capability development, and policy issues into clear, impactful messaging tailored for different stakeholders.
  • Ensure DoD, Joint, and Marine Corps leadership are informed on key sustainment developments, policy updates, and modernization efforts.
  • Coordinate with government and industry partners to ensure alignment in messaging and strategic outreach.
  1. Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination
  • Engage with Marine Corps leadership, CBRN program managers, operational units, and external agencies to ensure effective information flow.
  • Plan, coordinate, and support strategic engagements, working groups, and briefings for key sustainment and modernization initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain stakeholder mapping frameworks to track key influencers and decision-makers in CBRN sustainment efforts.
  • Facilitate collaborative discussions, decision briefings, and policy updates with Marine Corps and Joint stakeholders.
  1. Content Development & Knowledge Management
  • Draft white papers, executive summaries, briefing materials, fact sheets, and reports to support Marine Corps CBRN sustainment initiatives.
  • Maintain CBRN sustainment-focused information repositories to ensure leadership has access to relevant data, policy documents, and lessons learned.
  • Develop internal and external communication materials that align with Marine Corps strategic priorities.
  1. Data-Driven Analysis & Reporting
  • Analyze policy trends, sustainment requirements, and operational impacts to craft strategic recommendations.
  • Utilize data visualization tools and reporting frameworks to enhance clarity in communication materials.
  • Synthesize insights from operational data, wargames, and lessons learned initiatives to inform strategic messaging.
  1. Compliance with DoD and Marine Corps Policies
  • Ensure all communication products align with DoD, Joint, DON, and Marine Corps policies on sustainment and capability integration.
  • Monitor evolving guidance and policy changes that impact sustainment messaging.
  • Maintain compliance with security classification and information-sharing guidelines for defense-related communications.

 Required Qualifications:

  • 5-8 Years Experience
  • Extensive knowledge of Marine Corps operations, sustainment doctrine, and policy frameworks.
  • Experience developing and executing strategic communication plans in a DoD or government setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with expertise in briefing senior leaders and engaging stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in content development, messaging strategy, and knowledge management tools.
  • Experience with DoD decision-making processes, including JCIDS, PPBE, and acquisition sustainment frameworks.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, data visualization tools, and information-sharing platforms.

 Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree
  • Prior experience working within the Marine Corps Capabilities Development Directorate (CDD) or CBRN sustainment programs.
  • Familiarity with strategic communication tools, including SharePoint, Defense Collaboration Services (DCS), and government communication platforms.
  • Experience supporting wargames, tabletop exercises, or policy briefings in a DoD sustainment environment.
