As a key member of the Ardelyx Patient Services team, the Specialty Pharmacy Operations Manager plays a critical role in transforming operational challenges and opportunities into actionable strategies and service solutions. Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Patient Services, with a dotted line to the Specialty Pharmacy Account Team, this role ensures the seamless execution of programs across key specialty pharmacies supporting Ardelyx brands, including IBSRELA and XPHOZAH.
This role is responsible for developing and implementing solutions tailored to specialty pharmacy operations, collaborating closely with the Specialty Pharmacy Customer-Facing Team, and providing strategic recommendations to patient services leadership. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong leadership, operational expertise, and strategic problem-solving skills to drive meaningful patient access outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary liaison for the Field Access Managers (FAMs) and ArdelyxAssist team, addressing inquiries and resolving operational and performance-related issues across all specialty pharmacies (SPs)
- Partner with the Specialty Pharmacy Customer-Facing Team to gather insights, deploy programs, and monitor contract performance and quality
- Lead planning, tracking, and execution of specialty pharmacy programs, working cross-functionally as the patient services lead
- Analyze business requirements, define objectives, and manage interdependent activities to ensure successful program implementation
- Develop tools and resources to support specialty pharmacies, internal training, healthcare providers (HCPs), and patients, optimizing processes and enhancing access
- Track and report on program performance, providing data-driven recommendations to optimize operations and improve competitive positioning
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure program objectives are met.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of Hub or Pharmacy Operations experience
- Experience with IBSRELA, XPHOZAH, or related therapeutic areas
- Background in Specialty Pharmacy, Pharmacy Benefit Management (PBM), or health plans
- Experience in Field, Access, and Reimbursement from program development, marketing, sales, or operations
- Strong understanding of managed care levers and pharmacy benefit cost management strategies
- Prior experience in managed care, pharmacy benefits, or specialty drug management
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel or Tableau for data analysis and reporting, with a keen attention to detail
- Proven project management experience to coordinate complex initiatives, ensuring on-time and within-budget execution
- Experience in process improvement, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing streamlined workflows
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to translate process requirements into operational programs and drive alignment among stakeholders
- Ability to thrive in a matrixed environment and foster cross-functional collaboration
The anticipated annualized base pay range for this full-time position is $93,134-113,830. Ardelyx utilizes industry data to ensure that our compensation is competitive and aligned with our industry peers. Actual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors, including years of relevant experience, training, qualifications, and internal equity. The compensation package may also include an annual bonus target and equity awards, subject to eligibility and other requirements.
