About the Opportunity

At NewCo, we’re constantly reimagining what’s possible in our industry—creating disruptively simple, powerfully clear ways to maximize our clients’ financial outcomes today and drive down healthcare costs tomorrow. As part of the [Department] team, you will, as a Senior Business Insights Analyst, play a pivotal role in driving data-informed decision-making across our organization. This position is split evenly between PowerBI Development (50%) and internal consulting (50%), leveraging a blend of data engineering technical skills and customer-facing analytical expertise. The ideal candidate will be adept at identifying root causes and insights related to major business challenges and opportunities.

 

What you’ll do

PowerBI Platform Design and Administration (50%):

  • Develop and maintain actionable business intelligence visualizations: Create interactive and insightful dashboards and reports using Power BI to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Enhance and optimize Power BI features: Continuously improve existing Power BI solutions by incorporating user feedback, implementing new functionalities, and ensuring optimal performance.
  • Administer the Power BI platform: Manage and maintain the Power BI environment at an enterprise level, including user access, security settings, and data governance.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders: Work closely with business analysts, data engineers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements, provide technical expertise, and deliver high-quality BI solutions.

 

 

Internal Consulting and Analytical Insights (50%):

  • Financial Modeling & Business Analysis: Conduct high-touch business analysis and financial modeling to support Executive Leadership Team (ELT) decision-making. Provide insights that shape financial forecasts and impact analyses.
  • Formal Process Improvement Initiatives: Lead initiatives aimed at improving processes and accelerating product development through data-driven insights.
  • Ad-hoc Investigations & Reporting: Perform ad-hoc investigations and generate reports that address executive or client inquiries regarding business outcomes and performance metrics.
  • Facilitate Analytics-Driven Meetings: Organize and facilitate meetings with Operations, Sales, and Client Success teams to discuss product performance, trends, and insights, fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making.

 

What experience you bring (Role Requirements)

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a preference for team collaboration.
  • Confidence in presenting complex data insights to executive-level audiences.
  • Proficiency in data warehousing best practices and patterns.
  • Expertise in data sourcing, cleansing, and transformation using SQL.
  • Experience with dimensional data models to build scalable BI solutions.
  • Acumen in visual design for displaying multi-dimensional aggregations.
  • Familiarity with automation of ELT pipelines and testing in platforms like dbt.
  • Basic statistical analysis skills, including outlier identification and process control charts.

 

Technologies Utilized:

  • SQL and Python scripting
  • Databricks or other data lake platforms (e.g., Snowflake)
  • BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker, Superset)
  • Advanced features of MS Excel

 

Industry Knowledge:

  • Understanding of US healthcare reimbursement models and major healthcare payers.
  • Experience interpreting healthcare claims data is a plus.

Pay range: $110,000-$150,000 USD

 

This is an exempt position. The salary range is for Base Salary. Compensation will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to, skill set, years of experience, and the employee’s geographic location.
