  • Conduct risk assessments, inspections, and hazard mitigation while establishing effective KPIs to monitor and improve safety performance.

  • Partner with leadership to establish safety-focused KPIs and foster a culture of safety excellence.
  • Manage EHS staff, including hiring, performance evaluations, training, and team development.
  • Collaborate with regional teams to ensure compliance with international, federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Deliver employee training programs to enhance safety awareness and compliance.
  • Oversee incident reporting, workplace assessments, and safety committee frameworks.
  • Ensure alignment with ISO 45001 standards and regulatory guidelines.

  • Qualifications and Skills:
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years in progressive EHS leadership roles, with at least 5 years managing teams.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Safety Management or related field preferred (Associate’s degree with extensive experience considered).
  • Proven success in developing and implementing EHS programs at both site and corporate levels.
  • Strong interpersonal, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of global and local safety regulations; ISO 45001 experience preferred.
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) certification is highly desired.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and SharePoint.

  • Competencies:
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and adaptability in fast-paced environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Results-driven with an innovative mindset.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders across multiple levels.

  • Travel Requirement:
  • Must be legally authorized to travel internationally and domestically, with up to 20% travel expected.
  • Our comprehensive benefits package (including health & wellness plans for full-time employees, 401(k) retirement coupled with a Nielsen match, a generous paid time off policy, and if eligible, a discretionary incentive/bonus) is designed to be inclusive for all employees and families, and we take pride in ensuring that employees are rewarded holistically for the role they are doing and their performance.

A reasonable estimate of salary range for a new employee to be offered this role would be between $66,000 - $225,000, which would be adjusted based on each employee's geographic location. The position of each employee within a compensation range at Nielsen is dependent on several individual circumstances, such as experience, training, certifications, and other business requirements/needs.
