This is a remote position.

Job Highlights:

  • Flexible during client business hours; must be available for check ins 2 - 3 times a week Monday to Friday 9 AM to 4 PM Salt Lake City, UT time

Job Description

We’re seeking a detail-oriented, tech-savvy Bookkeeper to join our forward-thinking accounting practice. In this role, you’ll be at the forefront of modern bookkeeping, utilizing advanced automation techniques and industry-leading software to manage financial records for a diverse portfolio of small business clients. You’ll work directly with the firm’s founder, an experienced accountant with a passion for leveraging technology to streamline processes. Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks for multiple small business clients using QuickBooks Online and Xero
  • Perform accurate and timely account reconciliations, ensuring financial records are up-to-date and error-free
  • Process invoices and manage accounts payable and receivable with meticulous attention to detail
  • Implement and optimize bank rules and other automation techniques to enhance bookkeeping efficiency
  • Assist with basic payroll processing tasks as needed
  • Collaborate closely with the firm owner to understand and adapt to client-specific bookkeeping requirements
  • Proactively identify and resolve discrepancies in financial records
  • Stay current with updates to QuickBooks Online and Xero, continuously improving processes for maximum efficiency
  • Communicate effectively with the firm owner regarding any questions, issues, or opportunities for improvement
  • Contribute ideas for enhancing the firm’s tech-driven approach to bookkeeping services


Requirements
  • Proven experience in bookkeeping, preferably for small businesses in various industries
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Xero, with a strong understanding of their advanced features
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and manage automated bookkeeping processes
  • Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high levels of accuracy
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve financial discrepancies
  • Familiarity with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and basic payroll processes
  • Outstanding time management skills and ability to handle multiple clients simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Tech-savvy mindset with a passion for learning and adapting to new tools and technologies
  • Flexibility to potentially increase working hours as the firm grows
  • Associate’s degree in accounting or related field preferred, but not required for candidates with strong relevant experience
