Job description

Your Opportunity as the Senior Administrator, Operational Excellence

This role will be the business team’s lead administrator of our Computerized Maintenance Management System, which supports the maintenance and storeroom processes across our Smucker sites. This role will lead and develop the end users of this system, help optimize our maintenance systems, and ensure issues associated with the program are resolved quickly. In the near future, this role will lead the development and testing of our company's Maximo project, analyze plant data, and provide recommendations for a successful go-live and implementation of the new system.

Location:

  • Remote – within 1 hour of an airport is preferred

Work Arrangements:

  • Travel – Up to 50% for the next 3-4 years (then travel up to 20%)

In this role you will:

  • Single Point of Contact (SPOC) for our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) (Maximo or others in future), addressing all inquiries/issues related to maintenance, storeroom, & parts
  • Troubleshoots business issues, develops business requirements for correction and performs “Day-in-the-Life-of” (DILO) scenario testing processes as required
  • Technical lead for the Maximo CMMS Transition Project – participate in design reviews, testing, validation, and all implementation efforts.
  • SPOC for integration between CMMS and Purchasing Program – issues, testing, knowledge of system
  • Lead the CMMS training and implementation efforts across all manufacturing plant locations
  • Develop, deliver, and maintain all training for Site Super Users, Buyers, Clerks, and any other plant roles as needed
  • Lead new site setup efforts for greenfield plants or acquisitions, including assets, parts, storeroom, and maintenance strategies
  • Catalog and manage new parts, changes to parts, and cleansing of parts in Maximo Item Master
  • Partners closely with Maintenance, Repair, & Operations (MRO) Purchasing to set up pricing updates, understand vendor contracts, and coach all the above
  • Active member of the Preventive Maintenance (PM) Pillar by being the Subject Matter Expert on the Parts & Supplies Control Daily Management System (DMS)
  • Active member of the PM Pillar by updating the corporate PM scorecards and providing guidance, feedback, and support to plants based on the metrics
  • Lead and/or attend meetings/calls/conferences with plants and/or third parties
  • Develop, implement, and train improved business practices
  • Lead patch and upgrade testing initiatives with IS Business Partners
  • Lead the semi-annual User Security Audits for CMMS Program
  • Back up to other Sr. Administrators

What we are looking for:  

Minimum Requirements: 

  • High School diploma
  • 3+ years experience using Oracle eAM/Inventory or IBM Maximo
  • 3+ years of manufacturing plant experience
  • 2+ years of experience training on technical content
  • Experience with Maintenance & Storeroom processes
  • Continuous Improvement and Pillar Management knowledge
  • Self-motivated - has the ability to manage and prioritize multiple/diverse tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite: Excel, Word, PowerPoint

Additional skills and experience that we think would make someone successful in this role:  

  • Associate’s degree or higher
  • Food (human or pet) and / or beverage manufacturing experience
  • Qualified Super User in Oracle eAM (Enterprise Asset Management)/Inventory
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Project management experience
  • People Change Management knowledge and experience with organizational change
  • Strong technical and mechanical aptitude, specifically around plant equipment and maintenance practices
  • Ability to build strong cross-functional relationships with plants, purchasing, inventory, information systems, as well as with the IBM Maximo community
  • Microsoft Sharepoint, Teams, and Articulate
  • Minor Structured Query Language (SQL) or Visual Basic Coding Knowledge
