We are hiring a Technical Services Lead for our Power and Oil Free Air (OFA) product lines. This position is responsible for planning and coordinating all technical activities related to these product lines. The lead will also assist the National Technical Service group, both internally and for external customers.

What you will do:  

  • Directs the activities of Technical Specialists in supporting applications and power generation and Oil-Free Air (OFA) equipment across North America.
  • Provides technical support to technicians, sales staff, and customers, as well as to Aggreko Global Regions (South America, Asia, A.I.). This may include job sizing and equipment recommendations, onsite support for large-scale projects, and project management of complex and high-profile assignments
  • Collaborates with local Service Center employees to monitor the integrity and reliability of new product deliveries. Recommends process improvement ideas aimed at decreasing service material costs and enhancing equipment reliability.
  • Manages capital project planning and supplier coordination, while also overseeing costs for the Power and OFA Technical Services department.
  • Supervises the development, oversight, and completion of required equipment retrofits. Ensures accurate collection and documentation of technical product information, including product literature and technical drawings.
  • Stays informed about advancements in technology and environmental regulations. Maintains relationships with major equipment manufacturers to enhance equipment reliability.
  • Participates in research and development initiatives for reliability, equipment improvements, and design enhancements.
  • Oversee key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement measurement and reporting systems to evaluate the department's status and trends. Remains aware of utilization and failure trends, communicating potential reliability risks to support business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Learning Department to identify and develop new training courses for sales and service staff on both new and existing products.
  • Liaises with the Technical Services Manager, Technical Coordinators, and Regional Technical Services Managers to stay updated on current activities.
  • Coordinates with Area Technical Service Specialists to manage technical support activities throughout North America for Power products and applications, in partnership with Local Service Center teams.
  • Creates and monitors the Test and Turn schedule protocol.
  • Ensure regular communication with Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) to gain insights into parts and equipment.
  • Manages records of equipment failures and performance to improve reliability and maximize return on capital and service material costs.
  •  Handles additional assignments as necessary, such as overseeing the Oil Sampling Program, service-related initiatives, quality visits, disaster support, and providing directions to the Commissioning Team.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent; or 4-6 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience (must be Technical Specialist II or higher internally)
  • Knowledge in power generation industry required
  • PC literacy in a Microsoft environment or ERP System
  • Literacy in CAD and/or other industry design software
  • Capability to build and lead technical expertise across a multi-faceted organization within Power product line
  • Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to assess and interpret different applications (technical and other business indicators)
  • Engage and develop a team to work together to meet department and organizational goals
