Job description

AnitaB.org is not just a resource; we are a movement. By creating a platform of options, we foster freedom—the freedom to choose, to grow, and to lead the charge in transforming technology into a more inclusive, equitable space for all.

We envision a future where the people who imagine and build technology mirror the people and societies for whom they build it. Our social enterprise supports women technologists in technical fields, the organizations that employ them, and the academic institutions training the next generation. AnitaB.org is known for our various programs connecting, guiding and inspiring women in tech and Grace Hopper Celebration, the largest global annual gathering of women in technology.

Creative, Captivating, Fiscally Responsible, Resilient, and Community-centered. These are the attributes that our next Director of Global Events will possess. The Global Events and Experiences team sits at the epicenter of the organization with direct connections to our Corporate Development, Marketing, Finance, Programs, and more. The ideal candidate has a natural aptitude for relationship building with internal and external relations and the management skills to own production components.

Here's what you'll do
  • Reimagine and creatively communicate a clear vision for virtual, in-person, and hybrid events to produce experiences that inspire audiences and teams to connect, learn and collaborate.
  • Deliver event execution by partnering with inter-departmental teams to define strategy, success metrics, and requirements for all events.
  • Create and develop budget controls to drive accuracy in forecasting and estimating that ensure compliance with internal regulations and policies.
  • Identify vendors and staffing needs, bid, hire, and manage all event production partners.
  • Implement processes that support consistency in action. Provide a team roadmap in planning and management across multiple parallel projects.
  • Manage leadership reviews, team meetings, and post-event debriefs with an ability to work across time zones.
  • Collaborate with our sales teams to drive event-based revenue and sponsorship opportunities for AnitaB.org partners and sponsors.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned, which means to be agile and rise to the challenge: in service to our mission, from time to time, we do ask team members to take on, or volunteer to take on additional or different duties outside of their formal job description.
Here's what we hope you'll bring
  • Professionalism in team and external stakeholder interactions and communications, including honesty, integrity, respect.
  • 10+ Years experience in global events and/or event management, with experience managing multiple large-scale projects and navigating competing priorities and goals.
  • Significant team management experience.
  • Experience building, executing, and scaling cross-functional programs.
  • Experience working with broad groups of stakeholders, including senior leadership.
  • Experience using data and metrics to measure impact and determine improvements.
  • Ability to generate big, creative ideas to drive process improvement and execute events details and administration.
  • Ability to thrive in a highly dynamic, diverse, and rapidly changing, ambiguous environment, with the ability to stay calm under pressure; and possess the resilience to overcome setbacks.
  • A passion for innovation and creativity, which inspires people and teams to create memorable experiences.
  • Ability to travel as position requires.

AnitaB.org is proud to offer a remote, distributed workplace. Please know we cannot accommodate remote work outside of the United States. The salary range for this position is $131,507 - $143,264, plus competitive benefits, including health insurance, vision, dental and a 403(b) discretionary match. Consistent with pay equity best practices, we are proud to present only our best and final non-negotiable offer.
