Communications Director, Global

What you can expect:

As a Communications Director, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive communication strategies that align with Preferred by Nature’s mission and goals. This role involves enhancing the organization's global public image, managing stakeholder engagement, and leading internal and external communication initiatives to support sustainability efforts. You will oversee a team of approximately six communication professionals and ensure their performance, development, and alignment with organizational goals.

Working with us is never routine so the first year you can expect the following areas to be central to your work.

• Design and implement communication strategies that promote Preferred by Nature’s mission, brand, and services. Advise senior management on public relations and advocacy efforts.
• Ensure brand consistency across all communication channels and enhance global recognition.
• Build relationships with global media, craft press releases, and manage crisis communication.
• Oversee website and social media platforms, ensuring engaging and data-driven digital campaigns.
• Strengthen relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and policymakers.

Your first year with us

Within three months, you will:

• Gain a deep understanding of Preferred by Nature’s mission, brand positioning, and existing communication strategies.
• Assess current communication channels, brand visibility, and stakeholder engagement approaches.
• Build relationships with key internal teams, including senior leadership and regional teams, while understanding external stakeholders.

Within six months, you will:

• Develop and implement a comprehensive communication strategy that aligns with sustainability goals.
• Strengthen brand management by updating guidelines and ensuring consistent messaging.
• Establish key media partnerships and initiate high-impact content campaigns.

Within one year, you will:

• Scale communication strategies to enhance Preferred by Nature’s global influence and stakeholder trust.
• Drive major advocacy and thought leadership initiatives to position the organization as a sustainability leader.
• Strengthen internal communication frameworks to boost staff engagement and alignment with strategic goals.

Important that you:

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field (Master's preferred).
• 5–8 years of senior communication experience, preferably with NGOs or industries focused on sustainability.
• Strong media relations experience with established industry contacts.
• Proficiency in digital marketing tools and platforms.
• Proven leadership skills with experience managing cross-regional communication teams.
• Excellent verbal communication and written in English
• Excellent networking and stakeholder management capabilities. 
• Strong skills in crisis communication and reputation management.
