About the role - you will:
- Have the opportunity to work alongside a talented team of software engineers in the design, development, and implementation of cloud-native applications, primarily using Kubernetes and other cloud technologies.
- Assist with building scalable systems, improving observability, and contributing to open-source projects. This role will provide hands-on experience with modern cloud architectures, observability tools, and the latest in distributed systems technologies.
- Assist in building cloud-native applications, utilizing Kubernetes, and container orchestration technologies.
- Help in the development and implementation of observability solutions to monitor and improve global system performance.
- Contribute to open-source projects and collaborate with teams to improve cloud infrastructure.
- Support the development of CI/CD pipelines and integrate best practices in cloud engineering.
- Engage in research and prototyping new cloud technologies and features.
- Participate in agile development processes, collaborating with team members to ensure high-quality software delivery.
- Gain hands-on experience in cloud-native technologies.
- Learn from experienced engineers in a global, collaborative environment.
- Work on meaningful projects with direct impact on the company’s cloud infrastructure.
About you:
- Passionate about open-source software and contributing to collaborative projects.
- Eager to learn and grow in a fast-paced, remote work environment.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team.
Your experience includes:
- A proven interest in cloud computing, Kubernetes, and cloud-native application development.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker) and Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack) is a plus.
- Strong understanding of software engineering fundamentals and coding practices.
- Proficient in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Go, Java, or similar).
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

The estimated base wage range for this position is $24 - $35/hr. The individual base wage is based on work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Seagate offers comprehensive benefits to its eligible Interns, including, but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, and participation in the employee stock purchase plan. Seagate also offers Interns 12 paid holidays and a minimum of 48 hours of paid sick leave. The benefits for this position are based on a 24 to 40-hour-per-week schedule for a full calendar year and may differ depending on work location and tenure with the Company.
