Job description

Title: ESG Technical Program Manager  

Position Type: Full-Time 

Reporting Location:  Remote or Carlsbad, CA 

Schedule: 8am-5pm PST, Mon-Fri 

Salary: $90,000/ year  
 

OVERVIEW 

Verdani Partners is seeking a highly motivated ESG Technical Program Manager to join our growing team. This position requires a self-motivated individual with strong skills in project/team management and interpersonal communication. The successful candidate will work directly with corporate sustainability team members to develop and implement environment, social, and governance (ESG) strategies and initiatives to support global commercial real estate clients.    

This position requires coordination directly with our clients; therefore, they must have superior communication, writing, and presentation skills. The position also involves producing high-quality reports such as graphs, tables, and presentations to present to our clients.

RESPONSIBILITIES  

Primary: 

  • Managing multiple sustainability projects. 

  • Performing large-scale environmental data management 

  • Support with various ESG reports 

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS

Required: 

  • Excellent track record project managing sustainability projects and/or programs at a portfolio level  

  • Ability to effectively manage a team and delegate tasks   

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills  

  • Ability to lead meetings and give presentations to both internal and external stakeholders  

  • Passion for sustainability and green buildings   

  • Knowledge of building systems and energy data analysis  

  • Experience analyzing utility data and using different analytic tools/databases (ENERGY STAR Portfolio Manager, Measurabl, etc.)   

  • Ability to effectively work in a fast-paced environment on multiple projects at once and manage competing priorities  

  • A self-motivator with a strong work ethic and problem-solving skills   

  • Detail-oriented mindset  

  • At least 3-4 years' experience in a ESG related field 

Preferred: 

  • Experience evaluating different vendors and proposals 

  • Experience working on various sustainability reporting initiatives such as GRESB, CDP, UNPRI, TCFD, INREV, SFDR) etc.    

  • Experience with net zero initiatives and different frameworks (SBTI’s, CRREEM, etc.)  

  • Knowledge of green building certifications such as LEED, Fitwel, WELL, IREM, BREEAM  

  • Experience coordinating onsite and offsite renewable energy projects at a portfolio scale   

  • Basic understanding of asset management and commercial real estate 

PLATFORMS & SOFTWARE 

Required: 

  • Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft Excel  

  • Experience using Energy Star Portfolio Manager 

Preferred: 

  • Measurabl or other ESG related software 

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

During the execution of job responsibilities, the employee should expect the following conditions and demands associated with the role:  

  • Remaining in a stationary position for prolonged periods of time at a desk and working on a computer  

  • Repetitive motions involving the wrists, hands, and/or fingers 

  • Occasional light to moderate lifting, bending, stooping, kneeling, or crouching may be necessary 

  • Close vision requirements due to computer work 

  • Adequate hearing for effective communication in-person and/or on the telephone 

  • Ability to move objects weighting up to 25 pounds occasionally, 10 pounds frequently, and/or 5 pounds continuously.  

  • The job is performed indoors in a traditional office setting where moderate noise levels may be present.
