About the role:

The Payment Operations Generalist is responsible for processing operational payments-related tasks and providing support to both internal team members and credit union members on various inquiries and issues. The Payment Operations Generalist will serve as a cross functional member of payment operations and card operations, supporting the needs of each team. This includes but is not limited to: debit and credit cards, ATM, ACH, wires, checks, disputes, exceptions, and RTP/Faster Payment rail transactions. This individual will partner with card and payments vendors/partners to adjust parameters aimed at mitigating fraud and minimizing risk. 

This position has a starting hourly rate of $22.55, but your offer amount may be increased with relevant work experience and transferrable skills.  

 

A Day in the life of a Payment Operations Generalist can look like:

  • Resolve card and payment operations inquiries from other departments and members.
  • Monitor and process all daily payments maintenance tasks, including card fraud & disputes, chargebacks, card ordering, card blocking/unblocking, incoming/outgoing wires, check processing, ACH origination & exceptions, and RTP/Faster Payment transactions.
  • Monitor and identify fraud risk and activity to ensure mitigating strategies are sufficient to minimize losses for card and payment transactions. Make appropriate decisions on daily/monthly payments limits as needed.
  • Serve as subject matter expert (SME) by maintaining up-to-date knowledge of card and payment laws, regulations and rules, and ensure all third-party partners are compliant in them.
  • Support leadership with the research, development, and implementation of new card and payment products.

 

What you bring to the table:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-2 years of card and/or payment operations experience.
  • 2-4 years of financial institution experience.
