POSITION TITLE: Human Resources Business Partner

Supervised by: Director, Human Resources (Direct)

Supervises: N/A

FLSA Status: Exempt / Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY. The Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP), serves as a senior HR professional who acts as a strategic advisor to business leaders, with the main focus on workforce planning, performance management, and HR compliance. The HRBP will provide tailored support and guidance to business unit leadership to align the company’s people strategy with the overall business goals.

JOB DUTIES and ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS. A qualified individual must be able to perform these essential functions of the job as listed, with or without accommodation.

  1. Provide tactical HR support for all of MediQuant’s departments to ensure alignment with business objectives.
    1. Analyze business needs and implement HR initiatives that align with company goals.
    2. Collaborate with department leadership to develop programs aimed at improving employee engagement, and employee relations.
    3. Ensure smooth People processes across talent management, employee relations, performance management, compensation and compliance.
    4. Attend manager meetings when time permits to listen and provide feedback on conducting meetings.
    5. Advise management on company policies, state laws and best practices.
  2. Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on employee relations matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and facilitate conflict resolution.
    1. Responsible for helping to strengthen the effectiveness of our people leaders by providing coaching and development to further develop their leadership capability and impact.
      1. Consulting in HR matters, performance and talent management, organizational realignment, workforce planning, talent acquisition planning and onboarding, and retention and reward strategies.
    2. Partner with people leaders to implement performance improvement plans, ensuring documentation of processes.
    3. Act as an empathetic partner who actively listens and provides coaching to employees and managers through complex and confidential situations.
  3. Leadership development
    1. Coaching and mentoring people management to improve their skills.
    2. Provide training to new leads/managers.
    3. Work hand in glove with managers on disciplinary actions.
  4. Compliance
    1. Ensure adherence to employment laws, including labor regulations, safety standards, and anti-discrimination policies.
    2. Follow up with managers and employees to ensure quarterly and annual compliance training is completed for contractors and employees.
    3. Partner with legal consultants on state specific laws and regulations.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources, or related field.
  • 3-6 years HR generalist or HR Business Partner experience in roles of increasing scope in a matrixed environment.
  • Experience in results oriented HR role with senior level interface and high degree of executive influence.
  • Experienced leading people managers through various talent management processes.

Work Environment. Employees may work from our corporate headquarters or work from home. Employees may at times be required to travel to headquarters for meetings or company events. Remote workers will be provided with a company laptop and are responsible for maintaining access to high-speed internet.  

Physical Demands. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit for long periods of time, stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work. This is a full-time position, and the hours of work and days are typically Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, but the employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and must work 40 hours each week to maintain full-time status. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel. Incumbent may occasionally experience some out-of-the-area and overnight travel.

Work Authorization. In compliance with Federal employment laws, MediQuant will verify the identity and employment authorization of each person hired. MediQuant participates in the Federal E-Verify program.

Security Clearance. Must be able to pass all security clearances mandated by various government contracts as well as client hospital/healthcare security requirements. Any employee working on government projects will be required to successfully pass a government background check and receive a Common Access Card (CAC). Additionally, the applicant must be a U.S. citizen and will be subject to a Public Trust security background investigation and must meet requirements to obtain a Department of Defense (DOD) network account.
