About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Business Analyst to join our Analytics team. This role will act as a bridge between business stakeholders and the Analytics development team, ensuring that reporting and analytics solutions meet business needs effectively. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication, and a deep understanding of business processes and data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Requirements Gathering & Documentation
    • Collaborate with business stakeholders to elicit, define, and document reporting and analytics requirements.
    • Translate business needs into detailed functional and technical specifications for the Analytics development team.
    • Ensure requirements are clearly communicated and aligned with business objectives.
    • Ensure all details of projects are documented and communicated accordingly in the team’s backlog for the developers to complete tasks. Any questions/concerns should be addressed timely in order to remove impediments. AGILE/SCRUM practices should be leveraged.
  • Development & Testing Support
    • Act as a translator/liaison between non-technical customers and the developers to ensure products meet the expectations/requirements of customers but also ensure any necessary technical details behind the product are communicated and understood by the customers.
    • Work closely with Analytics developers to ensure solutions are designed and developed in accordance with business needs.
    • Participate in the validation and testing of analytics packages and reports, ensuring data accuracy and usability.
    • Facilitate iterative feedback loops between business users and developers to refine solutions.
    • Ad hoc Analysis/Reporting/Debugging: In urgent cases, write basic queries and leverage existing packages to compile ad hoc reports. Also able to trace and investigate bugs with existing processes.
  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
    • Coordinate and execute user acceptance testing with business requestors to validate the accuracy and effectiveness of analytics solutions.
    • Document test cases, track defects, and ensure all issues are resolved before deployment.
    • Provide end-user training and support to drive adoption and effective use of reports and analytics tools.
  • Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements in analytics workflows.
    • Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units, ensuring clear communication and alignment.
    • Maintain documentation for analytics solutions, including data definitions, report specifications, and user guides.
    • Support the Implementation Teams with the onboarding of new customers for the components requiring data and reporting.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education & Experience
    • Bachelor's degree in Business, Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
    • 3+ years of experience in a business analysis role, preferably within an analytics or data-focused environment.
  • Technical & Analytical Skills
    • Strong understanding of data structures, reporting tools, and analytics platforms.
    • Experience working with BI tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
    • Proficiency in SQL or other data querying languages is required
  • Soft Skills
    • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
    • Strong problem-solving ability with a keen attention to detail.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Requirements & Competencies:

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum
  • Knowledge of various segments of the hospital revenue cycle (Billing, Coding, Self Pay/Bad Debt, Denials/Appeals, etc.)
  • Experience working in various Hospital Host/PAS Systems (Epic, Cerner, Meditech, etc.)

Savista is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The annual range for this role is from $70,000 - $85,000. However, specific compensation for the role will vary within the above range based on many factors including but not limited to geographic location, candidate experience, applicable certifications, and skills.
