This role is responsible for Careem’s internal communications strategy, including leadership and change management communication, channel oversight, measurement and evaluation, and oversight of key strategic and cultural internal campaigns.

Role Accountabilities

Strategy and Advisory

  • Develop and deliver an internal communications strategy in support of Careem’s corporate strategy, engaging colleagues across multiple sites in Careem’s purpose, strategy and values
  • Provide guidance and support to key leaders in the business on internal communication best practice within their teams and organisations 
  • Advise on and manage internal communications for company milestones, organisational changes, corporate developments, and other key leadership announcements
  • Advise market-based communications teams on best practice for internal communications locally
  • Develop internal communications OKRs and oversee tracking and measurement of channel metrics

Channel management

  • Determine the optimal internal communication channels to support Careem’s strategic business objectives
  • Oversee the management of internal communication channels, including cadence and format of content
  • Assess the relevance and merit of new channels to support Careem’s internal communication objectives

Campaigns and content

  • Advise and partner with the Director of Communications and senior leadership to create internal content, messaging and visibility that supports business strategy and company culture
  • Drive creation of engaging internal communications initiatives, campaigns or content series to support a transparent, engaged and purpose-led organisation with multi-channel approach
  • Stay aware of internal communications best practice to continually enhance the impact of Careem’s internal communications campaigns and content
  • Partner with people team on key initiatives to deliver engaging and impactful campaigns for major programmes 
  • Provide strategic communications input and guidance to stakeholders across the business on communicating key business developments, announcements, and campaigns

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years in internal communications, preferably including experience in a fast-pasted technology company  
  • Experience working on corporate developments ranging from fundraises to organisational change
  • Experience creating impactful and creative campaigns 
  • Previous record of ideating and delivering new internal communications formats

Qualifications:

  • Strategic thinker adept at developing internal communications strategies to support corporate objectives
  • Exceptional English language communication and copy writing skills; fluency in Arabic is a bonus 
  • Strong stakeholder management skills  
  • Fluent in business metrics and able to support the development of corporate materials
  • Passionate about communications and the strategic role it plays in a business
