Job description

This is a remote position.

Shopify Website Manager & Developer
(Full-Time Role – Reporting to Managing Director)

Schedule: 11am to 7pm Monday – Friday NZ Time

Overview:

We are seeking a Shopify Website Manager & Developer to lead the technical growth of our online store. This role will focus on Shopify customization, automation, product scraping, and supplier stock integration, ensuring our website remains fast, scalable, and optimized for sales. You will work closely with the Marketing
Manager (who will handle graphical assets and content) and the Product Managers to expand the online product range efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Shopify Website Development & Customization
- Customize Shopify themes and templates to improve the online shopping experience.
- Optimize website speed, performance, and mobile-first responsiveness.
- Implement Shopify
- Liquid coding for custom layouts and features.
- Work with third-party apps and APIs to enhance store functionality.

2. Product Automation & Supplier Integration
-Develop and maintain web scrapers to automate product uploads from supplier websites.
- Integrate supplier stock levels into Shopify to ensure real-time inventory updates.
- Set up automated workflows to streamline product listings, pricing, and availability.

3. Website Performance & Conversion Optimization
- Conduct A/B testing and UX enhancements to improve conversion rates.
- Implement SEO best practices to increase organic traffic.
- Utilize Google Analytics and Shopify reporting tools to analyze website performance.

4. Technical Support & Issue Resolution
- Troubleshoot website issues, fix bugs, and implement necessary updates.
- Ensure secure and stable eCommerce operations, including backups and system health monitoring.
- Work with Shopify Plus or third-party solutions for advanced customizations (if needed).

5. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Work closely with the Marketing Manager to align website visuals with campaigns.
- Coordinate with Product Managers to ensure a structured and well-maintained catalog.
- Research and implement new Shopify features and automation tools to improve efficiency.

Requirements

- Proficiency in Shopify development (Shopify Liquid, theme customization, Shopify APIs).
- Experience in web scraping, data automation, and API integrations (Python, Node.js, or similar).
- Knowledge of inventory syncing, supplier integrations, and automation tools.
- Strong understanding of SEO, website speed optimization, and UX best practices.
- Familiarity with Google Analytics, Shopify Reports, and conversion tracking.
- Basic HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills for customization and troubleshooting.
- Ability to analyze data and make data-driven website improvements.
